Alright guys, what I mean is to have a bonus amount of SP for reaching certain thresholds in war points.
This could be tiered to benefit new users more, having several low thresholds (first 1k, 10k, 50k, 100k, and very 100k after that) which get farther and farther apart before they stabilize. The numbers can change, but once you reach these tiers you would gain an extra 100k sp (or perhaps scale it to the size of the gap between last reward).
- Tiered to help new players accrue so faster - Does not count towards weekly cap - Not affected by boosters, these are purely a merit award to help all players - Does not negatively affect vets, yet helps all non-vets - Provides a reason to play extra matches after cap. - Rewards all roles that can gain WP (everyone)
Negatives - May lead to more WP farming (which generally while isn't ideal still contributes to a match, capping objectives/turrets or destroying them) - May be somewhat easier for Logistics yet harder for scouts - ??? - I don't know how hard retroactive reimbursement would be.
Ideas? Comments?

I think you need to give people more time than an hour and a half when posting your initial request for feedback. After all, you did post in the morning, on a day that for a lot of people is a holiday.
Personally I worry about this exacerbating the WP farming and would prefer if newbies were helped by means of removing the weekly SP cap until they hit 2M SP, extending time in the academy to somewhere around a month, and providing a respec upon academy graduation.

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I agree about the somewhat bias of WP but certainly you can agree doing a reward system by number of kills would be even more out of whack.
Seems like the major complaint is the incongruity of WP gain which already effects ISK and SP per match end rewards, isn't this an issue CCP needs to fix regardless? And if this change was made would it make this type of "goal" system worthwhile? |
