If we could destroy them with melee it would make sneaky scouts a litlle sneakyer. It would save us all a bunch of nades and ammo, and the hassle of having to shoot them, give them a butt and move on.... It should be with a (Dare I say it?) auto aim, similar to that of the medkits, as long as you're close enough you should hit and it should be destroyed, this should take about a second or so making you slightly voulnerable in the process. Also no, destroying equipment is not a sneaky way to destroy equipment. The only true sneaky way is to destroy it from far away with a gun or flux or when no one is around. Anyone in the area would hear the equipment make a loud "pop" noise when it's destroyed, whenever I hear that sound I look at my map, if there was no one in that area I always assume someone destroyed it.

Stand close enough that when you are looking down you can nearly see your feet. Make sure you have a cross on the equipment before you press melee. The militia to standard equipment has 200 HP while the various higher levels have 300 - 400 HP. So a cheap militia hive will go down in two hits for most of my fits (120HP each) while a Proto might take three. Four if I miss once. Scouts have 80HP without mods or Skills. Keep pounding on that sucka and it will fail.
