I believe as a fellow forum warrior that likes represent your reputation, and show how often you post. But i believe that to be a kind person, if you receive a like from somebody, that you should at least try to find them and give them a like.
It will help build community and show that we are not stingy people that just want to get more likes for themselves, and don't care about giving likes.

Kinda goes counter the idea of voicing your genuine support for a particular message or notion.
Like farms can generally be found in the locker room.

no a restriction that i should have added was that it was only if that person also posted. This would prevent just going around and spamming people likes so that you get tons of likes.
It would just be for two people that are discussing something in a forum topic not random likes. I mainly suggest this for the Intergalictic Summit section of the forums considering that those have their main groups and are more likely to have other people join in than other parts of the forums that are less interactive.

Edit" Restriction it is only for people who have responded something genuine or on topic to the topic as well, this prevents random like spamming

I do not give likes just because i received one. I do however give a Likes EVERY TIME i agree with something or someone makes a good point or elaborates nicely.

I have to admit I'm sorta less liberal with my likes than I want to be
you will get a like if:
1: you make me laugh
2: you impress me with an analogy or put something in a witty and original manner(bonus points for funny)
3: your post is interesting, I understand that there is only so much you can do with "nerf this buff that" but If you make it interesting and you'll probably get a like
