Sometimes, it is blast damage so if shots are landing all around you but you are in a small space with walls all around you are safe.
However sometimes it glitches and will kill you through walls and roofs regardless. Avoid windows BTW, since it is an explosive blast it will still effect you through them.

I find sitting in a corner is a good way to survive, out of the four times I've done this in a Scout suit, I've survived all four.
These are 90 Degree corners though, haven't tried it out on curved corners.

surviving is random as hell, one second your whole squads alive the next everyones dead but you because you were a foot underneath some stairs.

Thanks folks.
Yeah i did think it was random as hell as at times we get pounded but when returning the favour i sometimes kill none even though i have 4 or 5 under the strike (much to my Squads dissapointment).
I'm also thinking an orbital should give out more damage.
Should a Tank survive a direct hit from an orbital when out in the open? i don't think so, Proto or not IMO.

imo the orbital seems to drop like a volly of water baloons from space and when they hit the ground the damage is how you would picture a balloon thrown against the ground so grabbing a wall or sitting on top of a cliff and very easly save you from water baloons of death

From a Warbage strike? (What we use in Public Matches) Yes, unless they dont bother to move, or their hardeners / reppers aren't active.
From an EVE strike? (What players use in PC / FW) No.
