I was think about making a alt(collecting passive sp) for tanking, because i'm bored and yes i know 1.7 vehicle changes blah blah blah... don't care. any help will be great! I've never used tanks before FYI

Yeah you can setup a fit for 500k, mostly milita stuff. It won't last very long at all. So I would recommend running a nitro.
As far as skill, focus on you either, shield or armor skills. Resistances plates, A shield booster or armor repair, and a extender.

At the very least, aim to get a standard module of each, Resist, Healing, and HP. And a rail will probably be your best best starting out. Just until you get used to driving around.

Don't even attempt noob sets using damage mods. There's a start.
Try railgun brawling- aim the dot 'just over' their heads, the round actually aims underneath the dot.
One fit i tried (and it worked?) was double light reps, 120m plate, and militia rail. Throw on a shield booster or scanner if you can.
