Obviously everyone is waiting for the market to open up. There are some interesting vague changes with PC 2.0, but I would like to hear from the rest of the community. How would you like to interact with EVE players?
So far my ideas: Deployable Satellites/Satellite Uplinks: This would allow an EVE player to view the map to provide intel to the DUST Mercs on the ground. |

So should the nodes shoot at ships or should it be like some sort of like giant cannon like in the video? and are you talking about boarding a supercap and destroying it from the inside? |

But boarding supercaps or other kinds of ships wouldn't be too bad either.

I think the ability to hurt EVE players is pretty important in linking the two games together, it would really create a desire to have Dust Mercs in your arsenal. |

I'd also like the ability to shoot back at EVE players to be implemented, as well as drones infesting planets controlled by EVE corps. I'd even like a proper DUST vs EVE gamemode.
But we could also start with something simple like transportation. On the starmap, make it so you can select a new location and a box with a price for a ticket to get there appears. You pay, it appears on EVE market and a pilot can pick you up and transport your clone to the new location. If he fails, you get your money back and only when he delivers the clone to the destination can he retrieve the payment.
This would need the economies to start merging, of course, but it could be a small step. Start with only allowing dust mercs to travel between the HQs we have right now, opening up gradually over time til you can pick any location in New Eden. Travelling between HQs wouldn't be that expensive but when travel would be available to all other places, it would be a lot more expensive.
Then, make our stay in a location mean something. One simple way would be to implement rent. If you're stationed in a EVE-owned planet, the owner gets rent for your stay there. EVE pilots would benefit directly from that, so make Dust mercs also have a reason to want to pay rent. Make it so EVE-owned planets can have training facilities built in there by EVE pilots so your passive SP gets a small boost, so let's say you get 1100 SP per hour instead of 1000. Make it so other EVE pilots can destroy that training facility, meaning it would need to be rebuilt.

PI An industrial capsuleer might want to boost his PI output and so he can hire a Dust Merc to go planetside and mine, extract some more planetjuice.
This would be a high risk high reward kind of thing. The whole point in using a Merc is because there is a high possiblity he could die.
Missions
I want to be able to go up against waves of rogue drones planetside, when things get too out of hand or I just need a little help a capsuleer can warp into orbit, fight off the space rogue drones and then OB some rogue drones.
We can then share the bounties.

as far as stations go I think the biggest thing is the HQ/Office is a good place to start, something similar to the DUST lobby only eve players and dust players can view the map of the districts they own perhaps and discuss tactics etc... |

I would like capsuleers to own pc districts and build surface infrastructures while paying us to attack and defend. I'd like for pc battle timers to be set by how long jumps take, I'd like eve capsuleers to run the show so we can be mercs, for us to gain standings with eve player run corps but able to gain good standings with as many as we want, not confined.

The ability to destroy or disable EVE SHIPS from on the ground or by boarding. But yeah.. very unlikly to happen.
Not when eve nerds take that as the equivalent of me walking over and flipping their D&D board over. Just for being nerds.

Chances are you will never ever blow up a supercap - much less a cruiser. Supercaps range from 20b to 80b. Even expensive frigates can cost upwards of 20m. |

I know, but the matchup may as well be putting Mike Tyson into a fight with an autistic two year old.
Levi McDaniel wrote:I think the ability to hurt EVE players is pretty important in linking the two games together, it would really create a desire to have Dust Mercs in your arsenal.
The most common way of having this implemented I think would be making a game mode that allows dust players to board a capsuleers ship in order to potentially forcibly eject a pilot from their ship - this would probably require a special module of some kind on the eve players part. This allows us to be used by pirates, fw groups and alliances - but it would obviously require someone to be held there for a while and a successful defence would need to be meaningful to the capsuleer in question too. The module would allow for a random contract *or* for someone to contract a specific group of dead killy mercs. Hell a less extreme example than forcibly evicting pilots from their ships would be allowing us to attempt to sabotage starbases.
The next way involves giving us some form of planetary infrastructure control - make eve players *want* to interact with us, make them want to have some form of capsuleer / merc cooperation... and then from there, give the players who haven't secured the benefits of this cooperation some reason to *want* to destroy it, or replace it with their own allies. I'm not necessarily talking about moon mining here, but that's the kind of idea that we should be working for, capsuleers who have it profit off of it greatly, capsuleers who don't want to steal it from the people who do. |

As for Planetary Interaction, production increases if you eliminate the competition's extractors and refineries, so just hire the DUST mercs to destroy your opponent's facilities. duh! Getting someone to mine is like pulling teeth boring by comparison.
For Missions, I can see going against rogue drones in the Rogue Drones Region of space, but this makes no sense anywhere else in the game. Instead go against the NPC pirate faction that owns that section of NPC pirate space!
For walking in stations, just convince the EVE pilots that it's a good idea. ;)
