i propose instead of adding a lunge or a charge while sprinting mechanic which imo would be slightly OP why not allow the quick slash attack to not interupt the sprint it should be fairly easy to implement and would reduce the amount of chasing needed to take a target down |

They made a list of 4 knives, meaning I would assume functions would be divided between the four
1) Caldari knives charge
2) Amarr knives lunge
3) Minmatar knives don't interrupt running
4) Gal knives make people laugh
I don't know, but you get the idea, there would have to be a reason to go for the different melee weapons, so I am thinking they are saving the other functions for the other knives.

I don't know, but you get the idea, there would have to be a reason to go for the different melee weapons, so I am thinking they are saving the other functions for the other knives. honestly i believe knives are on the backburner for now which is fine due to the other problems currently in the game. but all knives should have the same mechanics regardless of race damage efficiency should change depending on race imo. Also id like to see the same 150% efficiiency that apply to headshot be applied to the back of a target that way instead of 100% itd be 150% for a sneak attack |

That sounds like a good solution, but to me the biggest issue knifers face is scanners. You and I both know that flanking enemies is almost impossible if they can spot you on their scanner and proceed to mow you down with whatever weapons they are carrying. That to me just spoils the whole experience of sneaking, running behind enemies, and stabbing them with knives. A solution would be to use a profile dampener module, but most of the knifers use the minmatar scout, which only has 2 low slots, which would be a pretty big sacrifice in my opinion to waste it on a profile dampening mod. |

I still hate how they "lock" at the 5th swing. i believe the lock is a bug not intended to be there, and if it isnt we need an overheat meter, luckily it only takes me two swings if i dont 1HKO on the first. but i can see how that would become a problem in large groups of targets. |

Although that can keep you hidden from all scanners except the prototype one, it just seems wrong that a scout knifer needs to invest that much sp just to even be decent enough. |

I'd say the minmatar scout needs a huge rework. Since its a assassin it should have a base db of say 40 so it still can't beat the op 15 scanner but it doesn't need a mod to beat the 28, then it's back to knifing |

I know we talked about this the other day but I'll share my thoughts here as well. At LVL 5 min scout and proficiency 3 on my nova knives, the ishukone knives will kill all but protos without a charged swipe. If able to run and swing you could feasibly take down back peddlers and people you're chasing without making them too ridiculous.
If the minnie got a minor speed buff as well this would make running and slashing a feasible way of countering these problems.
There's a lot of ideas on ways to change the mechanic to cover that 1-2m gap that knives really have a problem with and this could be a feasible solution.

I thought all knives should have a lunge, but this is actually a great idea, giving each it's own ability.
EDIT: I don't use knives, but I want them to be good weapons so badly!

Well CCP has confirmed that the Nova Knives' hit detection code is still full of irregularities even after 1.6 supposedly fixed them. They confirmed that they will try to fit the fix into 1.7.
Hopefully they will be A LOT more viable against moving targets after that.
Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.

I'd like to rethink my opinion on them nova knives after the last match.
My squad and team was taken out by only a trio of nova-knife wielding ghosts.
I must look into this sorcery.
