With the proliferation of super tanked suits and prototype rifles I've decided to share some of the fitting designs that I've been experimenting with to encourage diversity of tactics on the battlefield.
I am a veteran of Mordu's Private Trials and I've put a lot of training into core skills so fitting this for yourself may prove difficult. However, I hope you will find inspiration for trying something different on the battlefield. Reduce the rifle first if you have trouble fitting everything. The dampeners are critical for this suit to work so don't attempt this if you can't defeat at least advanced scanners.
'Infiltrator' Logistics M/1-Series // 42,285 ISK
GEK-38 Assault Rifle
Flux Grenade
A-45 Quantum Active Scanner Remote Explosive R-9 Drop Uplink
Complex Shield Extender Complex Shield Extender
Enhanced Profile Dampener Enhanced Profile Dampener Enhanced Cardiac Regulator
The 'Infiltrator' is a heavier version of the Scout and intended to be first onto the battlefield to secure objectives and deny enemy access until the frontline troops arrive. It foregoes armor plating to enhance the weak stamina subsystems of the M/1-Series Logistics and relies heavily on extensive sensor dampening to stay off the TacNet of all but prototype-level active scanners.
Before securing the objective Drop Uplinks are positioned to allow additional troops to follow and to give a means to return quickly if repelled. One remote explosive should be placed before hacking and a quick sweep with the scanner to avoid being ambushed. If hostiles are inbound then back off and let them start to take the objective, detonate your explosives, scan and replace an explosive.
Use standard scout tactics when encountering the enemy: avoid direct contact, dictate the engagement and fight dirty. The assault rifle, and soon the combat rifle, gives flexibility and enough range to pick off enemies while maintaining cover.
Do not over use the active scanner. If you hide behind cover you can use the scanning ability of the objective to know when the hostiles have arrived. Improving your own passive scanning range is also a good idea.

This is similar to the Infiltrator fit that I made, so I'll post the one I use in here as well.
Infiltrator
Frontline (Gallente Starter Suit) (or other suit with equal low slots)
[Light Weapon of your choice] (I use 'Templar' Scrambler Rifle) [Sidearm Weapon of your choice] (I use 'Toxin' ICD-9 Submachine Gun) Militia Locus Grenade Blueprint
Militia Drop Uplink Blueprint
Militia Armor Repairer Blueprint Militia Profile Dampener Blueprint Militia Profile Dampener Blueprint
*Note: These do not have to Militia level or Blueprints. (But that's how I have mine)
Combined with level 2 Profile Dampening (74,610 SP) the two Profile Dampeners will reduce your signature to just below the Advanced Active Scanner precision. Meaning the only way to be picked up by Active Scanners is if they're using PRO level, which means that you're in MLT forcing them to use PRO in order to be effective.
The purpose of the Drop Uplink is so that once you sneak behind their lines and approach the objective you can place this down, that way, any teammates aware of their surroundings will see it when they go to spawn and use that, increasing the number of troops you have behind their lines, and at their base.
The Armor Repairer is to keep you going after a small firefight in case you lose any armor.
A single skilled infiltrator can turn the entire tide of battle.
If you want to see the stats on a fitting you can't make yet or with skills a higher level than what you currently have, I suggest using the Dust 514 Fitting Tool. |

I use a 'Fossil' minmatar medium frame BPO for the same purpose. Best 5000 AUR I ever spent. Faster and more durable than the M-1, does lack the hacking bonus which would be nice. But, I feel dirty enough using that suit, I'm not going to skill into the Minnie tree any further than necessary. I'm hoping the Amarr scout gets 2 equip slots *crosses fingers reaaaaly hard*
I use it to place uplinks behind enemy lines and at the start of each battle.

I've thought about doing this as well. To have the hacking bonus and equipment slot over a scout fit, which is what I currently rush with. I would say that decreasing your natural scan profile and moving from two dampeners into having a stamina mod would push your suit closer to being first on the scene. This would give you a better edge when relying on the remote explosive and surprise as your means to quickly dispatch the other rushing opponents.
As an side question, do you find the extra hack speed worth it? |

Increased hack speed is definitely good. Don't know if I'd be willing to give up a module for it though, I'd suggest leveling up systems hacking and just using its passive. +25% to hack speed is pretty good, especially if you're using a Minmatar Logi as your infiltrator suit and have leveled Minmatar Logistics to 5. Then you'll be getting +50% hack speed! ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! |

I'd agree than any merc that trains Minmatar Logistics should also train Systems Hacking to 5 as well. The two skills together make a great combination. I never bother with adding code breakers with that efficient of a hacking bonus.
