Let's put the Doomboys to good use for once!
Let's use their Doomness Sight Powers to pull out the worst scenarios that could happen if ISK traffic would go unimpeded between EVE and DUST.
I don't have the big picture, but I don't see what could go wrong in a major way.
When you open the gates between two containers containing fluids, one will flood the other one if they are on the same level.
Right now EVE container is really bigger and contains a lot of fluids; Dust one's is small and is not so full.
Once the Dust one's get flooded, what would happen?
...maybe is some market buyouts I guess (if possible)...
It would be great to get some ISK flowing though. We could put up the fight in PC and bring more life into the game.

everyone in DUST will suddenly have a lot ISK, and the ISK value will drop, because if everyone is rich - then no one is rich. So then the market will open everything will cost like 500% times more

Not a doomboy - but here is what goes wrong.
The eventual goal is that all goods on the market will be developed by players, and therefore the prices will be set by the players (not by CCP). From an economic standpoint, this means that having an unusually high amount of money in circulation will cause those prices to be extremely high. That means a player in Dust might pay the same price for a dropsuit that an Eve player pays for a ship. When you factor in the fact a lot, if not most, of the players in Dust will be dependent upon income from games in Dust, they will be unable to afford anything literally - thereby pushing them out of the game. A hyper-inflated market would quite literally be game breaking for a larger part of the player base.
Hope this helps.

1. ISK flow between Dust and Eve is implemented unimpeded.
2. Eve players completely take over PC halting all PC battles and just farming it so that they can buy pled.
3. Eve players are now only using Dust ISK to buy plex, pled market collapses.
4. Without a form of profit, CCP goes under.
5. As Iceland's only profitable company, the Icelandic economy collapses.
6. U.S. and Germany bail out iceland at a steep interest rate, angering it's citizens, Icelandic nationalist parties abound.
7. Angered by the flailing economy and their indentured servitude to the western powers, iceland undergoes a communist revolution and elects a dictator for life.
8. Dictator declares war on Germany and U.S. in retaliation against iceland's debts, meanwhile U.S. and German economies collapses under the weight of supporting iceland previously.
9. Germany and the U.S. are easily taken over. China sees Iceland as the new superpower and main rival.
10. Due to Iceland's small landmass, China believes it can cripple iceland with a nuclear strike, Iceland retaliates with the entire U.S. nuclear arsenal.
11. Nuclear Winter.

If you want to go by that analogy, then I can help explain.
Assuming Dust and Eve are two containers of different sizes with Eve being the tallest container full of liquid (let's say it's water for the sake of discussion), and both of them are connected to each other via a single tube attached to the base of each container with both of their tops open, then the water in the Eve container will overflow the Dust container until the water in the Eve container is at the exact same level as that of the top of the Dust container.
That's what happen when you don't have a Eve-to-Dust tax system in place before allowing ISK to flow.
The solution to this problem is to elevate the Dust container so that its top side is at the exact same level as that of the water in the Eve container. Over time the height of the Dust container grows as walls are slowly added at the top. As the Dust container grows, the container itself is slowly moving down so that its top is always at the same level of the water in the Eve container.
At this rate, the Eve Online container and the Dust container will eventually have the water at the same level and the Dust container will never overflow as a result.
Keep in mind that the water in the Eve container gets added to it over time due to players in Eve running missions which generate ISK via NPC mission payouts.
The balancing act represents taxes.
CCP, thank you for hotfixing the knives. But please make sure they're at their full potential in 1.7.

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention. The water in the Eve container also drains due to ISK getting destroyed via market broker fees, clone update costs, station services, sovereignty upkeep, corporation upkeep, etc.

EDIT: In as non-sarcastic way as possible, take a look at the rules of supply and demand as well as the more high level ecomnic principals, and you will understand why CCP actually employs former university economic advisers to help ensure such out of control prices does not happen.
Not necessarily. CCP still sets the mineral requirements to make various suits and can adjust them to ensure that the prices of suits remains level.
In addition the payouts players receive in battle varies with the value of ISK lost so more expensive equipment would mean a larger iso payout in the end, compensating.

i have 20 billion isk in eve - in dust i have 90 million
last time i played eve i remember it was pretty easy to make 100 mil per day you can make an awful lot more than that if you try. in dust i can make 3 million in the same amount of time and its alot more work to do so.
hope these 2 statements answer the question.
if currency transfer was implemented - i would re activate my old eve account......but imo its game breaking and unfair on those who never played eve. |

We, if we all had a conversion to EVE ISK, would be some of the richer characters in the land.
