Abstract
This suggestion is more of a compilation of several arguments presented in several topics across the forums of Dust 514, the sensitivity levels must be considered a core hardware and software mechanic that is essential for the battlefield accuracy during engagements.
Present state of Sensitivity Levels Currently we have sensitivity levels ranging from 0% - 100% with fixed increments of 10% that are applied to hip fire and aim downed sight (ADS) equally.
Suggested changes to Sensitivity Levels of Foot Soldier I would like to bring into the table a structured revamped sensitivity level for Dust 514 which would be based on the matter of choice by allowing players to have the option of choosing how they want to control their game-play. Mainly because it is the small changes that add value to the game in a whole new different level.
It might as well be implemented gradually to Foot Soldier GÇô Controller, KBM and PS Move by steps:
1.The Hip fire and ADS sensitivity levels must be separated (the player will have the option to have distinct levels of sensitivity for both types of weapon use, but CCP could go further by adding an option to have GÇ£parallel sensitivity buttonGÇ¥ (ON/OFF) so that the change in one sensitivity level will be reflected in the other type and vice versa).
2.The range of sensitivity levels shall no longer have a 10% increments going from 0% - 100% (such that players will be able to choose any number going from 0% to 100% at their will. Similar to choosing 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% GǪ 97%, 98%, 99% and finally 100%).
3.The sensitivity must be reduced and increased from their current levels, hence a greater array of sensitivity levels will be able to be chosen by the players ranging from slower to faster sensitivity if compared with the levels we have currently.
Suggested changes to Sensitivity Levels of Vehicles It must be implemented in a ramified way that 1st person and 3rd person view of the vehicle are separated and made independent; the appliance to vehicles should mimic the same structure that was previously implied in regards to the Foot Soldier.
How should it be implemented? It does not need to be a full implementation at first and it can follow several distinct paths. -The first path could be implementing the first structural level across Controller, KBM and PS Move at the same time. -The second path could be implementing the first structural level to one piece of hardware at a time (Controllers first, KBM next and the PS Move). Many different types of paths to be mention so it is up to CCP discretion.
What about grenades and equipment use? When throwing down a grenade or equipment it shall be considered as GÇ£Hip fireGÇ¥, unless CCP adds the option of use ADS and equipment/grenade. After the revamp is implemented what else can be done? If CCP is willing they could even add different type of sensitivity levels to different types of weapons, ranging from hybrid-plasma, projectile, laser, hybrid-rail and explosive
This proposed change to the current sensitivity level main idea is to add depth to player customizations via software (Dust 514)
