 You should get Logi Support.

Heavies should be like the tanks of the ground, they need support (In this case from at least one player) to be godly, I hit a (MLT) Heavy 3 times with my ADV Shotgun, who was getting repped by a Core, he did not go down at all, so I just ran off and came back for the Logi later.

Think of the Heavy + Medic in TF2 (Except without the Ubercharge)

Plus, the Logi gets a lot of WP, leading to more OBs.

Depends on who I'm facing. I've gone very positive in several matches, I went 22/11 with the HMG in one fight against Ancient Exiles towards the end of the Red Star campaign. In other battles I've gone more positive.

Lemme do the ballpark math here...

The Core does 180-odd HP damage. The ADV Shotgun does 42 damage per pellet. Assuming armortank, that's 38 per pellet, 12ish pellets? Assuming a few miss and you aren't getting full optimal, 370 damage or so per shot. Fire rate is abit faster than 1 per second, but humans need that extra time to land good shots so lets assume one per second. You do a tad more than double his heals per shot, with 750 damage dealt by the time you decided to retreat. I do not know each fitting, but I can guess that the enemy Heavy had a few plates to survive that minimum damage threshold. If the Logi had been shooting, the the two probably would have killed you during this initial confrontation.

As for the Medic/Heavy comparison, it isn't quite accurate. As a rather competent TF2 Medic, I know the class can be performing healing all match and be considered useful. If you had a Logistics teammate using his repper ALL match, he would be widely considered useless. You'd like the heals when you need them, but Caldari and Minmatar units would find him as annoying as helpful, if not more-so. The TF2 Medic has many features that the Logistics class doesn't, such as Overheal, Ubercharge, and a much faster (proportionate) heal rate, along with a much less effective ranged weapon and a FAR smoother lock system. If Mediguns locked as choppily as Remote Reppers I can almost guarantee that I would have never put in enough hours to go Highlander. A Logistics player would serve better using his Light weapon, pulling out the repper during luls in combat.

Before PC started to lag horribly I could easily manage 2-4 KD with the HMG. But now every where the HMG is viable lags so bad you can't even use it anyways.

*raises hand* I usually get around 1.8-2.4 during PC. It's not about K/D in PC if you are a heavy. It's about keeping those fucks off of your point.

 AR or Assault Forge, FTW
But, the right map with good positioning and good scans and 2.0 is a minimum if you want to include yourself in the Heavy brethren.
Assault HMG, if you're not surrounded by walls.
