Sniping/Recon like in battlefield is sort of possible in Dust. Quickscoping like COD is just... dumb in my opinion. You can stand, move, and fire a sniper rifle but it's really hard and not worth the difficulty. The sway is too much. If you're looking for some bolt action like play the regular version of the SR is really what you want as there is no scope sway when ADS and it has a decent range. Youtuber. The trick to getting a snipe off real fast, is to stand still, and crouching helps to. You should also just take the snipe right away, instead of lining up the shot... The best defense in not a good offense, it's a good defense.

I was incredibly bored the other day and decided to equip the 'Neo' Commando suits we were given a few months back with two 'Covenant' Sniper Rifles and go in for some lolquickscope madness. It didn't work out so well.

Confident I would easily take down anyone who tried me though. Still wish scouts didn't need inertia so I could jump off towers and snipe when I'm bored.

I once killed a guy at 10m with a Sniper Rifle, who simultaneously killed me with an Assault Rifle. Another time I was facing another sniper at 5 m and we were jumping around to avoid getting hit, while trying to quick scope each other. Those were the two most memorable examples. It is also possible to hip fire with the Sniper Rifle, although I have never had much luck with that. There is nothing there to aim with. Quick Scoping in DUST involves lining up the target in the middle of your screen and switching to the scope when the target is almost perfectly centred, so you only have to make a minor adjustment once you bring up the scope before firing. If you donGÇÖt have skills you need to fire immediately before you loose your targeting to sway. It works better once you have Sniper Rifle operation 3, and by the time you get to 5 the sway is not a great issue when standing for close to mid range shots. I canGÇÖt compar it to any other games, as this is my first and only First Person Shooter. Try placing a tiny piece of opaque tape in the center of your screen. Works miracles. Ive been able to do it in moderate success rates, you just have to time the scope sway with your button press, but most of the time they will rush you when they see the sniper in your hands and think ...."LULZ easy kill" they rush you you hit em twice aaand finish em with an SMG.... they die Its impossible to do with a charge sniper rifle, the charge is way too slow and you need to shoot in sway intervals.... I can Qucik Scope & do Drag Shot with 90% accuracy, but in Dust, not so much lol... Winner of the EU Squad Cup "Go Go Power Rangers!" "Accuracy"
