Just finished playing a Domination and my entire team of randoms got shut down. But the frustrating thing about it was that i realized the majority of thek were WAY BEHIND the red line Sniping... Like a good 300 + meters in the opposite direction. Im seeing a frustrating pattern. All this space and for what? The Dominaion was won by the other team in about 2 minutes. So I had to spend the next 7-8 minutes watching my teammates coward and flee meters behind the redline.
This isnt fun this is atrociously boring....CCP youre still failing to see why this game is dying. Id honestly like to hear your thoughts on the matter. Cause clearly if you play this game and get pub stomped and redlined you MUST be saying to yourself: "Dang this sucks, theres like no way for my team to even attempt to come back from this."

They should make it that when you're in the redline (combined redline, yours or theirs) that your minimap or HUD won't work and that your LOS and view distance is drastically shortened, they could justify this by inventing that there is a satelite above the centre of each combat zone map and that powers and relays the signal to your HUD and navigation and minimap etc.. just and idea and would encourage more people to get in the game! |

Probably not. I think most people would just quit the match once they had been redlined under those conditions.
I do agree with the OP that the maps are a bit to big considering the size of the teams. |

New players are just getting sick of being mowed down by an OP AR. and I do not blame them for not putting up being assimilated target practice for the elite. Till things change, I doubt that scenario will as well.

Size of the map is also designed for when we have larger teams on each side.
Doesn't change the frustration today, and maybe they could have introduced smaller maps to start until we had the infrastructure behind the scenes to accommodate larger sizes, of course.

Maybe it would but that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing and I don't think it'd cause too much frustration as it would/should actually encourage them to find a way OUT of their redline. If they quit then they just get a percentage of what they would have gotten anyway ISK and SP wise so let them quit, it's the same result, they're practically out of the game at that point anyway. |

That can only be done on Next-gen where Battlefield 4 can have 64 players in one match and run rather smoothly... And CCp has already stated they aren't going to port this game to the PS4 anytime soon. Yet another failure on their part |

Also, uplinks. Spend 12,000 SP for standard.

Uplinks are a solution for spawning where you want to. And dropships/ any vehicles for that matter help you get to places faster. But we're not discussing issues in spawning and traveling so I'm not sure what's your reasoning behind this input.
P.S. standard uplinks are crap |

Reason for input. This guy is QQing about not having fun because the maps are too big. So he wants to get in battle, FASTER.
Also, it is more of a Proto stomp thread, simce he is complaining that the enemy is stomping. So the thread title is flawed.

This is not a QQing/proto stomping thread. This is more of a sub thread to my other threads about how these maps ARE too big. They are so big in fact that sometimes it takes some time to even engage the enemy.
I wrote this after my Domination match went to hell and there are a lot of things that were frustrating with that match, but I digress. Anyway, haven't you ever said to yourself while playing an ambush: "Why have this gigantic map yet you spawn the enemy 20 meters away from you. and the funny thing is the majority of the match will play out right in this fraction of the map with the rest of the map completely unused. It's wasted space.
These maps are meant to hold a large population of players at once. 24 vs 24, 32 vs 32 type engagements. NOT 16 vs 16. Hell sometimes its 4 vs 16 (and trust me I HAVE seen that)

Domination has to be the worst game mode. It requires that both teams be trying the same amount for the game to be anything more than a total roll over.
At least in skirmish you can take points over by yourself.
Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.

My concern wouldn't be the odd person quitting it would be most or entire teams quitting. Any new players joining the match will not be able to see out of the redzone but they will see the clone difference, or letters held etc and will quit out of the battle as well as they will probably assume that the entire red team, in HAVs, etc are camping the redline.
Redline games are bad enough as they are but potentially having the other team quit the match so there is basically no one or only a few people left on the opposing side would be incredibly boring for all players.
It would even create more frustration with matchmaking as there would be a dramatic increase in players being dropped into unwinable matchs. |

No, the maps need to be expanded to the full size CCP has blocked off right now. Not only would you get vehicle combat spread out and mostly away from the nodes, but snipers et al would be spread out too and more localized to certain areas.
The only real use for MAVs and dropships is to carry squads from point to point. As it is now MAVs would be useless ans dropships are just patrolling in circles. Tanks are very effective on the redlines due to close proximity and otherwise are also just patrolling in circles.

Most dominations the redline WAY TOO CLOSE to the mcc. Maps were expanded to make up for tight flying space and for other not yet released vehicles,,that was months ago. Something else also,,these huge maps are the reason lots of heavys switched to the ar/scr. Feel bad for'em. Gotta b Usain bolt to get around these maps. THAT HURTS MY FEELINGS. Like Im the turtle that DID NOT win the race. |
