I just noticed that the latest EVE newsletter has foregone any mention of DUST 514, whereas in the past they had some sidebars with some info. Is there a plan to dissociate them completely, or are they going to be integrated as a DUST/EVE newsletter or was it that just this newsletter has had no DUST worthy news of interest? |

Given that ps4 sold over 1 million boxes on the first day alone just in the states. And Dust514 has complety missed that croud it is likely the ceo has had enough of the failed dust experiment that has forever damaged ccps reputation among consol gamers and done nothing but **** off eve gamers.
I can't think of a single good call Dust514 team has made since closed beta.
Dust started out so awsome and fun and whst we have now is so far off vision I doubt u can see the original plan

The last thing you wrote is probably closest to the truth. DUST was from day one conceived as a game linked with EVE, so I doubt CCP has any plans to disassociate DUST form EVE. Also, Jean-Charles Gaudechon, the new executive producer of DUST has publicly announced that EVE-DUST link is the top priority for DUST as soon as core gameplay is fixed.
EVE newsletter is... EVE newsletter. There really isn't any particular reason why DUST should be mentioned there. Unfortunately, current EVE-DUST link doesn't really give EVE players much reasons to be interested in what's going on in DUST.

Yes, this is why it's an oddity for me. They mention Dust news in EVE newsletters (aside from the most recent one), and then they also have a Dust newsletter, but as eventually they want a "one universe" functionality are the plans to merge the newsletters or dissociate them completely? I saw CCP RaRaRa is indeed working on merging the forums so it would make sense if they could push that for the newsletters too - it would make for more coherent communication and of course "cross-sell" each game to both EVE/Dust populations. |

Actually my post wasn't supposed to even be on the angle of "OMG Dust is dying", I'm too big a fan for that. ;)
I was wondering more on the state of integration of both newsletters since it wasn't clear at all - the EVE newsletter has Dust news, then Dust has its own newsletter as well, and then all of a sudden it doesn't appear in the EVE newsletter - it just seems inconsistent. It's probably one for the community managers. |
