it seems like the first thing that comes to most people's minds (that i know and talk to about gaming) would simply solve the "OP" with making it twice as costly or 3 times or 4 times (in games that don't use markets like this the answer becomes a little more complex) but still most would only ask that the risk equal the reward.. no more and no less.. or decreasing an items value in order to make them more popular and available... is anyone else shocked that **** hasn't been tried yet? or is somebody gonna tell me that's not good enough? if so.. please elaborate for me.. honestly if AV cost twice what it does now to run and vehicles were half what they cost now.. i think nobody would be complaining about their 'effectiveness' or lack there of even though thats totaly dependant on individual skill and squad utility not "price" or "punch"
point and case.. if you suck at a game everything is OP
so lets just make them more or less affordable to reduce or encourage their ab/use..
i bet u wouldnt see anybody spamming if it cost them an arm and a leg |

Tanks, hmmmmm.
Tanks are weapons that don't need teamwork, infinite ammo, most of the time can't be taken out by one player.

tanks are also weapons that are stuck on their tracks and only a skilled pilot can get them into a certain areas.. it takes no how and it takes finesse. i've seen a scout with nothing more than a pistol and remote explosives kill a tank and that was before they nerfed them.. not proximity... remote... think about that and ask yourself if you know how to do something like that
i'm also not trying to rant but i'd like to point out that CCP has confermed they are going to have finite ammunitions for the new patch ( a change im all in favor of )
so me personally.. i'm not concerned with tanks.. if ur smart enough to avoid showing yourself to them.. most of them are not confident enough to try hunting you down.. and honestly it seems like most tankers on here are not he sharpest spoons in the drawer
and i honeslty cant say i'm upset when nyan san or dark legions or who ever decides to drop a tank with a proto-loadout because again.. i keep my head low and dont show myself.. is that such a hard concept for the rest of the mercs on here to grasp? |

It's been seen time and time again that balancing using isk does not work. People don't care about cost - you can see this all the time with the proto stompers in every single match - if they die three times, they're losing isk. It doesn't matter though because they earn millions from PC or just run free fits for a few matches so they can go unbalanced expensive gear again.
How about CCP just balance things by, I dunno, balance them?

yes but if every body who wants to proto stomp for a fight or two needs to use start fits to bank that isk up again doesnt that solve the vast majority of the "abuse"?
again though, i'm argueing that this game is balanced as it is.. errr was... the very minor details that should be adressed with effective ranges and damage is being over adressed by people i see as overreacting.. if u get killed once by a proto stomper they probably got the best of you.. it happens again maybe it was your own fault for not anticipating him doing the same thing last time you encountered him?
my point is alot of people in this game that complain about it have more htan likely never tried to use different tactics..
remotes for instance are 1 hit kill for all suits.. tell me why you can just get better at using those? or idk.. shoot em in the face that seems to do the trick for me..
there's alot of people on these forums that act like they have no other option but to run head on into the enemy barricades..
its not broke... ppl just arn't using the right tools to 'tweak' it... |

i bet if you tell me an "op" loadout i can tell the (near) perfect counter-tactic even without proto gear to fight with.. ur right.. it all comes down to bankrolling (if your team is unorganized and scared of a little blood) |

i'm convinced the key to victory in this game is not tanks or dropships or lavs alone.. its the team that runs them nad their cohesiveness.. we at L-I-D utilize something called the buddy system, idk if you ever heard of it but it does wonders on the frontlines.. try it sometime |

id just like to remind you this is not a "one person-centered game" if thats how u wanna play that's ur problem.. sure i cant forge most adv tanks by myself but i bet if some1 spawns in a starter fit with a swarm they've skilled into that's all the help i need.. keeping in mind NOBODY and i mean NOBODY properly utilizes a breach forge gun.. if you can.. then no more tanks or dropships.. think about that.. |
