They won't exist as items anymore, so even if they left them you still couldn't use them (anyone remember the yellow bottle invalidating your fits?). On top of that, even if they were usable still, the modules won't be balanced for continued play.
So they're giving you a full refund (and more, depending on when you bought them).
Your transaction had nothing to do with Sony, so there's that angle gone.
Your item no longer exists in the game, so there's no legitimate reason for you to still have them.
You are being refunded fully.
Where exactly is the problem? |

the problem is im not getting the psn credit.
see, I didn't buy aurum because I wanted aurum.
I bought arum cause I wanted the bpo's.
the only items ccp has that I ever cared about spending real cash on was bpo's and boosters.
but at 23 mil sp, I don't need boosters anymore, and the other aur gear is useless to me.
so I spent real money to get an in game currency to buy items they are now taking away, and all I get back is the aur which is useless to me now...
lorhak, youre a smart guy, think about where this type of business practice can lead.
remember contact nades and aur cal logi suits?
remember when ccp nerfed them? they didn't give anyone any compensation for that. now they remove a few bpo's after submitting a statement saying the bpo's in our inventory are ours to keep.
its just messed up.
its a road I refuse to let ccp take me for a ride on.
seriously, this is the thanks I get for giving ccp my support by spending my money on their product?
SAY NO TO BPO REMOVALS!!

I appreciate the potential for unethical business practices here; I'd think that a good alternative to simply taking the BPOs would be to temporarily offer BPOs of current MLT mods (I also appreciate that BPOs are inherently bad for the ingame economy, fwiw, so I'm not suggesting that they be left there). That way, those of us who want the AUR back can keep it, those of us who'd prefer the BPOs can do that instead.
I do remember contact nades, and I don't really have too much sympathy for those guys who bought thousands... (I mean, why would you ever? Do you really think it's sensible to buy gear for the next six months at one time, especially when the Fused Grenades were so blatantly OP and P2W? but I digress). CalLogi is still an effective suit, if not (at all - thank God) what it once was, and I'm hoping that when the suits are finally rebalanced to have useful bonuses, that the CalLogi finally finds a niche beyond being the go-to for a super-bricked AssaultLogi. For what it's worth, I'd not be too disappointed with a nerf to my GalLogi; after all, I didn't pick it because it was an OP armour+damage stacking suit; I picked it (when Uprising dropped) because it had a bonus to equipment fitting.
I also think it's a bit disingenous to complain about the removal of these BPOs, considering that all sorts of things are being taken from your inventory. I understand that there's a difference, in that the BPOs are indirectly purchased with real money, but I'd have comparable grounds to complain about the 100 Falchions sitting in my inventory being removed. I'm being compensated the same (in fact, I'm being compensated by something like 50% more than I anticipated, considering I was just going to sell them on the player's market eventually ).
I hope that CCP will do the sensible thing and modify the BPOs in such a way as to ensure that we can still run things at a massively deflated cost, rather than removing them entirely, but I don't accept that these BPOs, being of items that are to be removed entirely from the game, should be left in the game simply because you paid for them, directly or indirectly.
This is my favourite solution to the BPO problem. |
