I was talking with a corpmate of mine about several of the problems around skirmish such as redlining, redline snipers, redline rail tanks etc..
We had concluded that the only way to fix issues such as these is to remove the redline. Woooo there yes I said it remove the redline. Now you must be thinking that iv completely lost it but hear me out.
Removing the redline sounds mad as yes it could lead to ground spawn and mcc camping , but hears the kicker What if the Mccs circled round the map opposite each other ? What if the MCC had a designated red zone beneath it that moved round the map with the MCC enabling a safe landing zone the landing zone around the mcc would obviously have to be large enough to stop you getting into light wepons range of the safe zone and thuslu stopping mcc camping. this would fix many of the problems that folks associate with the redline. This would put an end to redline snipers and rail tanks alike whilst still enabling a safe spawn point .
This is not the only fix we talked about we also concluded that objective spawning should also be removed which would leave a much higher emphasis on crus and uplinks. As there would be too many locations to spam uplinks at every null cannon it would require a more tactical use and possibly actually stop uplink spam on 1 solitary objective simply because you would need your uplinks to be far more spread out. The removal of objective spawning would vastly increase the tactical basis of this game and would also aid towards the end of spawn camping when combined with the fix to the MCC, as it would be a bad idea to try and rush the enemy mcc when your nearest spawn point is half way across the map.
if we combined these two fixes together it would drastically increase the tactical gameplay of this game, yes I do know my idea isn't perfect but it is open to discussion so
Discuss........and hopefully we can make this game as awesome as it should be.

from the lack of trolling I think this could be a good idea but no one wants to discuss this

+1 for no objective spawning.
As for removing the redline.... It probably should still stay.
Just push it back so that the mountains that surround the valleys we play in are not in the redline areas. Then campers keep their spots, people can go after them, and we don't have to worry about MCC spawn camping.
Would probably need to move the MCCs back to account for the expanded battlefield.
Also, the ground spawning areas would need to be turned into regular outposts that are just precontrolled at the start of the match (since moving them would require actually redesigning the maps). This would mean the enemy could take over the ground spawn but the increased battlefield size would give room for sneaking around to a safer side by spawning from the MCC.

yes sbut if the ground spawns were capturable and the mccs actually moved round the map then it would eradicate the need for a red line, and tbh if there was no redline at all just a map boundary all these red line campers will have to move once in a while, most of the maps are big enough to remove the redline , I also thought tat if the MCCs moved round the map it would eradicate any advantage that the terrain could provide for one side and shack things up alittle.

The problem with moving MCCs is that they will often be moving over terrain that can be a hindrance to getting back into the fight.
Say the enemy team took all the other spawn points and I want to use a tank to spearhead an attack on an outpost with a CRU. If the MCC is currently over mountainous terrain, it could be very difficult to navigate the tank down from the mountain. If I wait to spawn the tank until I get out of the mountainous area, I'm greatly increasing the risk of being killed before/as I call in my tank since the other team will be watching for people spawning from the MCC.

hmmmm good point , but if the maps were opend up and the mccs moved back as well as moving then it would put a greater emphasis on vehicle use as you would need them to get back to the fight , it would have to be far back enough to deter the attempted spawn camping of the mcc.
