I run logistics suits to provide a supporting role to combat. There are various forms that role may take and the logistics suit is flexible enough to handle them. I will lead the charge if the blueberries are just standing around picking their various orifices though.
I currently have three different role configurations:
- Infiltrator: dampened with uplinks, hives and scanner. Minmatar Logistics 5 and System Hacking 5 for quick hacks.
- Mechanic: uplinks, hives and repair tool with SMG.
- Boomer: uplinks, hives and repair tool with mass driver for fire support.

Ya no worries :p I'll be the first to admit I'm not the best shooter, that's why I logi.....although I have tried to put myself in the assault role with my Templar assault suit and raven suit etc. I've had mixed results with the assault role. Trust me, I'm a much better pilot than frontline powerhouse.

Don't use logi because of the sec weapon slot. The logi suit is only as good as it's first mag. |

I do the same with my Caldari suits.
(Yeah i have a LOT of caldari stuff XD)
My cal ASsault and Logi have the same slots ,but my logi has armor rep + equipment slots and i can tank easily 700+HP at ADV level without sacrificing my weapon quality and still having scanners and nanohives... |

I run logistics because I enjoy they style of play and I am horrible with a gun. When I want to fight I usually run an Amarr assault for the laser bonus. I do use logi for AV because of its ability to fit more than one prox. I have a bricked logi for use in turrets that carries a rep tool to help repair vehicles but I don't have any fitted for fighting and not logi. I use suits to enhance my style of playing. If I pay for a logi suit I am going to try to get every benefit from it I can.

i run logistics because its the only suit that can support multiple sets of explosives + nanohives
im demolitions.
this game lets you create your own class, and it just so happens that the logistics suit has the most adaptability alowing many many many different playstyles in a single suit.
the problem is that the other suits offer more narrow options for playstyle, and so many more people creating their own way to play will gravitate to logistics suits because they dont want to be hemmed into the narrow scope of the assault class.
the design really should of seperated logistics from medium frames, and then creates seperate specialisations between them rather then having logistics suits just a specialisation of medium frames.
it would of created a wider suit balance alowing people to run logistics suits in a more socially exceptable way.
in short logistics should be removed from its ties to "medium" frames, and new specialisations within the logistics bracket should be added to promote diversity and bonuses to different types of logistics roles.
like hacker
demolitions
medic
vehicle related suit
medium should be more geared towards different types of assault related functions such as shock trooper, flank, brute force, types of assault specs.
the problem isnt with logistics, its a problem with specialisations favoring logistics suits for all but a single purpose, that of having a sidearm. |

I play logi because I've always been a support class in ever game that has it available. Too bad the people you help run to the forums with pitchforks and torches raised.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I have my pro amarr logi and a proto basic Caldari suit.
I have an issue with how much armour a callogi can tank though, time and time again I see callogis with 700+ armour.....I thought amarr and gallente were armour tanks

I run the logistics suit because it has more versatility.
More slots = more TYPES of modules. For instance, you can't run a plate, repairer, shield regulator and sprint mod on a minmatar or caldari assault (faster shield based suits) because you can only run 2 different types at the advanced level or 3 different types at proto.
Also for the equipment. Repair Tools, Scanners, Nanohives, I love them all.
In the beginning, the thing that drew me in was the ability to have 3 equipment...and the extra speed that the minmatar had over the other suits. Once they released the other logistics suits I stuck with minmatar because of the extra speed, hacking bonus, and module slots.
I'm not much for the assault class because 1 equipment slot is just too restricting for me. Not only that, but logistics has a higher wp potential, as a trade-off for lower average kdr.

I use logi to either be a medic or use scanner/hives/uplinks combo, I can do anything at ADV or proto across 4 chars with a 5th char I don't use, ever.

If you see a callogi with 700+ armor they're not running any equipment and they're a try hard for doing it.

When I was a super scrub, I skilled into the Logistics because I thought it had 3 Light Weapon Slots.
But then I decided to start using it a few days later and was completely fascinated by my ability to keep the team up and running.
And the amount of WP I was getting was incredible. And It really made up for the pathetic "gungame" that I had. I didn't really play too many FPS titles before DUST.
Now I run Logistics so I can keep people living long enough. With the massive amounts of people armor tanking, the demand for repair tools is rising tremendously. I just wish I could see who needs a repair 
I don't use logistics for their tanking abilities though. Unless a Core Repair Tool, Wyrikomi Injectors, Ishukone Hives, and Imperial Uplinks count as tanking.....
