They're already usable. They've always been usable. People are too afraid to adapt to their usage in a form other than the scrubby AR/MD use.

Lmao, the only commando worth running is proto and that's still very very niche and weak.
Currently the only thing lolmandon'ts are good for is camping towers with a swarm, a sniper, and a hive.

Then make pilot suit heavy instead. Makes more sense. Or make one specialized heavy suit a mech suit. In 5 years or so.

Commando is great. I run Advanced Lolmando most of the time with MD, SCR and Scanner. It just needs a little more speed and one more slot (high or low) to be OP :)

The hp buff from 1.6 made a huge difference to me; training up core shield and armour skills is reaping a solid reward in regards to my overall survivability. As someone who's used commando from day one I'd offer up the suggestion to give them a small buff to CPU for all tiers (advanced suits struggle to run two advanced weapons + modules without above average fitting skills) and, more pertinently, a 1/1 2/2 3/3 slot layout for the suits. It makes no sense to deprive the basic suit of the opportunity to use its own suit skill, let alone the impracticability of using ANY suit that can't fit a repper of any sort.
I love using it, and the buff helped, but it still needs a little bit more love to take it into the mainstream. |

I think the commando suit would need a lot more than a single slot and some more speed to become OP. These suits are disgustingly easy to kill as they are slow and have huge hitboxes. CCP really needs to rethink this class as right it is about as useful as the plasma cannon.

Commandos aren't "lolomgwut" anymore. But the price tag is still inexcusable compared to a Militia Heavy Frame with your light weapon of choice plus an SMG or a Flaylock.
Commando would only be great as it is if sidearm weapons sucked. They don't. All the sidearms are good. 
Either the suit needs more module slots, or it needs to be a light frame like the Black Eagle suit.

I just needs a good clone to run it, fellas. I use it a lot and can recommend it to anybody who isn't afraid of challenges :) as mentioned before, the MD/SC/Scanner Loadout proves to be quite a efficient combination...in the right hands.

a commando with an lr and an ar can camp any open plane. a commando with an ar and an md can watch a door like a boss for your assault crew to attack. the possibilities are endless.

I'm not arguing the concept, I skilled ARs specifically in anticipation of a not terrible commando.

I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"
