I had more fun with an almost full militia battle not to long ago and the battle seemed even until the other team started to slip up. Why can't more battles be more even? But I know people are going to say "Oh we don't have enough people for it to be balanced" or "Stop QQ if you don't like it just leave". These kind of close games is the kind of battles I want or am I just the only one? |

I think the best matches are the ones where both sides stay within 10 bars of MCC damage and 20 clones of each other, objectives being traded down to the end where the momentum could shift either way down to the final seconds.
Those matches I believe are the most fun for all involved.

Not trolling, that's for sure. I find the closer the game the more enjoyable. |

This is why restricted-level matches would be healthy for competition. Even something like the old Corporate Contracts but where you could restrict suits/weapons/equipment below a certain point (ie, only ADV and lower, for example) would be a good way of getting people out of their proto-shell. |

Excuse me, the community doesn't care enough?
Where inside the innards of a demented Kitten did you get that idea?
The problem is still the same as in the Closed Beta, the Open Beta and Uprising 1.0 - 1.whatever. There is No Matchmaking in DUST. None. Never has been and there are no plans to add it. New Eden doesn't need matchmaking apparently and it stems from the HTFU attitude of CCP.
The DUST community of players/gamers have long lamented the lack of some mechanism to indicate what level of play they would like to engage with other like minded Mercs. Many propose No Vehicle matches as well as Vehicles Only. Proto/No Proto and a wild range of combinations have all been asked for over the last YEAR with no results other than the absurd Squad Finder*.
My basic, frank opinion is there is no way that CCP/Shanghai can figure out how to implement it. A number of players could be easily matched by letting others know what is being requested (ADV gear only, yeah I could do that - join). What we get is more silence, confused solutions that have some of the words we used but none of their meaning.
Please put blame where it is due. That would start with the letters CCP, be it Shanghai or their Mothership.
Welcome to DUST.

Kal, I can agree with the "No Matchmaking is necessary" though, *only* outside the lobby.
Apparently, CCP can't replicate the shared instances of Eve for Dust yet. Beyond that, I doubt that many of the traditional console FPS players want people to be able to engage them with surpise outside the confines of a lobby match that they can leave if they start losing.
IDK though, I sincerely hope that I am not the only one who wants Free Roam FPS PvP of the non-consensual variety.

These kind of battles happened more in open beta and early uprising. Back when not a lot of people had enough Sp for proto, or even adv. Those were good days, when all games were fun, hell i remember the first time people started protostomping, sadly i was one of em :( . Well anyway things were more fun back then. |

My favorite matches are the ones in which the battle becomes a race to see which comes to an end first- one side's MCC or the other side's clone count. Was in a winning match earlier today where my side managed to clone out the other while only having three or four notches left on our MCC. Also lost a match in a similar manner, wherein the enemy had fewer than 10 clones left before our MCC blew up. All I could think of was, "If only I'd been able to snipe the guy hacking A, we might have won."

Love those battles that just last. When it comes down to a few ticks on the MCC or a few clones. The excitement as you are screaming at the TV just hold on guys, just F**** hold on we can do this. It makes me feel so D*** happy when we win. If we lose I am not mad I sit there for a moment and think what I could have done better, but I thank the other team for making my night.
We should as a community should play a whole week with starter or BPO fits and weapons just to see how fun it could really be.
