 I need some options.
My hands are not as young as they use to be, as well the rest of me....
double CTS, ul nerve displacement, etc. etc.
My digits do not last long with a ps3 controller, mashing buttons, etc.

I have been seeing threads mentioning mouse type controllers.
So I have been researching the types avail,
and found the aimon elite to be the shzits.

Any opinions in regards of? thank you in advance.

I used to use a mouse and keyboard, but I stopped when I started using Grenades and Dropships more often.

Sounds like you may be under the impression you have to get a custom mouse made for the PS3. Not so - just about any USB mouse and keyboard will plug right in and work. You should be able to try it out with a cheap, crappy set, and upgrade to a fancy gamer mouse if you prefer the feel.

Valve is making a steam controller that works like a mouse, dont think theres a controller mouse hybrid out yet. I think the threads you read were about using a mouse with a program that tricks the PS3 into thinking its a DS3 controller so they could take advantage of the aim assist while using a mouse.

Why dont you just use a m/kb setup?

 not that at all Doc,
Just looking at options since my hands are fairly large size trying to fit on a small controller
at the same time my digits get the hurt on fairly fast.
I'm 52 yrs old, and enjoy gaming FPS's.
Physical failure in my hands is becoming evident and very frustrating.

Just seeing what others have tried, pros and cons.
