Joining a corp is a huge factor in new player retention. They can help explain game mechanics, make social connections, and help new players squad up (which will help their suvivability immensely). I think CCP should add a feature to the academy that allows new players to see corps targeted at new players very early on. Any corp can register to be listed here, and the interface will show a list with the name of the corp, player count, tax rate, number of players currently online, and a description the corp submits etc. It should probably be sorted based on player count by default.
This should help retain new players as well as help smaller corps recruit through helping new players. It's a win/win.

Xer Cloud Consortium and Xer Deadspace would love to cater to new players...by liberating them of their funds with a 95% tax rate. Joking aside, I fully support this idea to increase player retention by making community connections more easier to establish.

I do think this kind of thing could be a problem, which is why sorting by player count and displaying the tax rate in the list would be critical. I'm sure some people will start troll corps, but New Eden is a sandbox, and hopefully Darwinism will help the best new player corps rise to the top.

It's difficult to find that tax information out even at the moment. I believe you actually have to belong to a corp in Dust to find out its tax rate. I'm sure CREST could display this but it's not immediately viewable to new players.
So implementing a way to view that data in a more straight forward manner is an excellent next step.

I agree. Not everyone checks out these forums for corp recruitment. There should also be a time displayed when the corp is most active so you know if youll be on at the same time your corp is. They have it in Eve, it should be here. Corp advertisements with all the info. Cheers. +wan |

CCP did an awesome job making their Eve Corp Recruitment in game app, if I feel the need to look for a corp or alliance I just check that out. It needs to be in Dust for the noobs and vets alike.
