I've recently discovered the virtues of the scrambler rifle (normal, not assault)/pistol. Particularly with the scrambler pistol, I find that I am more effective in close range than I was, ironically, with the shotgun. Firing up to 10 rounds in quick succession gives me the flexibility to deal with bunny hopping as I never could with a shotty. That being said, any tips on which pistol is best? I use a scout so that I can get close to people and right now I'm using 2 damage mods which makes it rather powerful - any other ideas? |

I personally use the Assault variant due to the high RoF and the fact I have prof. 3 in it. Aim for the head, man. Everything drops within six shots if you hit the head each time.

KLO, adv assault, proto regular and proto assault pistols are my favourites. Never leave the house without a KLO at least. The burst ones are fun but not for me.

Got a proto assault pistol on my laser and swarm fits. People get really thrown of their game when they get close to my swarms then I switch to my pistol and destroy them.

Would anyone suggest the breach? It does almost 50 more damage per slug... I haven't tried it out practically though |

The breech models are gret for dealing with strafers just let them straif into your cross hair and pow merc mist.

Best advice I can give is aim around the head area and spray the pistol. Doesn't sound like good advice but trust me it works lol.
Also don't try to aim for bunny hoppers until they land on the ground. Otherwise you'll be wasting shots.
Btw Wolfmans are SOOOOO OP >:D

I loves my BreachGǪ slow and steady. You scout, me scout. Take the first shot at the head, if they are still standing Maneuver around Bam Bam Bam to the body and you are done.

The Viziam is cheap on both Isk and fitting requirements. Not as good as the assault, but if it allows you to fit one more proto module, I'd say it's worth it.

Imo, if you are good at being patient and good at placing your shots, then any breach variant would be ideal for you. Keep in mind that the ROF is less than spectacular. I personally use the assault variant, mainly the TT-3. Once I get my Electronics to level 5, I will be using the Cartum assault or Viziam variant. I have my prize Wolfman's PCP-30 pistols from the Squad Cup winnings but have yet to use them. Like Marauder said, those things are OP as hell.

Breach is just hilarious to use as well.
If you line up the shot properly you just... execute people.

If you're running an all-amarr setup - like you should - you'll likely want to not carry a nanohive, so having a breach SCP as a sidearm allows you to stay on the offense for longer than the assault variants do.
...One-shotting C/1 suits is fun though, too... |

you crazy mang.
many (about half?) drop within 1-2 direct headshots.
Almost nothing survives 4. that's 300hp per bullet to the head.
if you're firing more than 4 bullets into something, and its still moving, the only reason is that some of your shots werent headshots.
well, okay, maybe with the recent heavy buff, you might very rarely need 6 to the head.

I run against proto users constantly, man. Those heavies are beefy as all hell, especially the hardcore brick tanked ones. My personal advanced hits 1200+, so imagine a super tanked heavy. It's crazy.
