Because it's bugged and infuriatingly impossible to hit targets, where targets need to be hit.
As in the ground directly in front of my ship.

Yep, My LAV is completely useless.
I usually drive around and support the frontline with a gunner but my gunner can't hit jack **** anymore.
Thanks CCP, Basic LAVs already bullshit now they can't even hit the target.
They're just high-speed coffins now. |

The issue that YOU are talking about is separate
I believe you are referring to the fact that Small Blaster Turrets got completely broken (Beyond useless) in Patch 1.5
Obviously this also affects dropships, but before I want complain about hit detection and damage of turrets, I'm talking about the fact that the DS side turrets can't even rotate properly.

I hate having gunners in my ADS, personally. I just fit the crappiest turrets so I can fit more tank, plus, I hate trying to steady the ship out for them.
That said, that ******* bug NEEDS to be fixed, it is INFURIATING

I suppose no dev sees the importance of fixing this bug while removing the only working front-gun off of dropships (removal of ADS)

Sorry, CCP were too busy working on a hotfix reducing Light Frame Scan Radius from 20, to 16.
Clearly this is more important, because Light Frames are so OP!

Honestly I'd rather they leave it as is for now. This is dropships we're talking about and we should know by now how creative they are when it comes to nerfing dropships. |

Oh yeah, I mean, that makes sense.
So, as predicted (not impressive, it was predictable)
CCP implements massive vehicles changes to dropships while leaving in a game-role breaking bug
that's been reported 10,000x since Uprising for the past 6 months
And it screws dropships entirely
