Create a new "Subscription" Booster that costs $15 and sets your Active SP accrual to 0% and your Passive accrual to 400% (or whatever number is required for you to get max Active and Passive for the week).
Also create a "Boosted Subscription" Booster that costs $25 that works like the above booster but gets you SP equal to your weekly cap plus the +50% Active / Passive boosters.
- This removes the SP grind
- Gets CCP more money
- Easy to implement
These boosters would make the SP system work like EVE (where you accrue SP passively over time) for "Subbed" players and ensure that a "Subbed" player gets their max SP even if they play 1-2 matches a week.

Yeah, I would welcome something like this. Effectively, people could chose to spend money to avoid the grind, without getting ahead of anyone. It's pure "money for convenience", which is perfectly fine in a free to play model imho.
Of course, inevitably there will be those people that say "You have to work hard for you SP you scrub, just like I do". They would feel dumb for wasting all those hours of their life time for grinding out SP if other people could get the same result by buying a booster. Because they fail to realize that playing games is about having fun, and not about grinding just to grind and then feeling 'rewarded' for getting something that should be a given anyway. |

Grey line between pay to win and free to play.
I am not saying this idea is pay to win I am just saying it is very close to it.
DUST514 I love the dream but not the current product.

Truthfully, the +50% boosters are more "Pay to Win" than these would be. Current boosters give an advantage (50% more SP) that can only be gained by paying $$. Eventually they will be available on the open market (and thus available with ISK) so the playerbase hasn't lynched CCP yet. And the same will be true of these "Subscription Boosters", they will also be available on the open market and purchasable with ISK.
Players want less of a grind and CCP wants more money. This is an easy to implement solution that gives both parties exactly what they want. |

Instead, why not have the active SP instead be put in passive, and have active be 0 SP
That's seems much less P2W then this.

I'm a big fan of moving to a full passive SP system as long as they have some different booster options for purchase. Passive boosters should be the standard, the Omega, and specific one that gives serious increase (x5-ish) but only against a selected skill tree.
That said, I like the idea of some kind of reward for active WPs earned. Perhaps increased ISK and Loyalty points?

Basically, you buy the "Subscription Booster" and now get the same SP (passively) in a week as another player, without the booster, gets passively and from hitting their active cap.
Its the "Full Passive" system people keep asking about, except instead of for everyone its for people who buy these boosters. |
