Enough sp to proto both. I will take both to lvl 3-4 to try the variants and choose the one that feels the best for me. |

I love the Min weapons but will try them out gradually, maybe to level 4 max for the assault but will see how it goes then plug in the last few SP and let rip

Yeah, but I wanted to emphasize the full auto variety because I don't plan on even trying the burst variant - burst damage is too low to be worth the effort, while the assault variant will be like an upgraded SMG. |

I get them both cause i can save fitting costs with the combat rifle (slight better range too) and the rail rifle for long range fights.

Also I think the CR can be fine when used on unsuspecting foes. The Adv is 100 dmg per burst at an insane RPM.
- And no need to worry about overheating in a pinch.
Still keeping ScR for my assassin fits but will change out AScR on most others. |

That's cool. I'm curious to see how the assault combat rifle compares to the SMG because that's become my primary weapon lately. The burst damage output and better range over assault looks interesting. I'll be trying out both versions. I run Min Logi and will probably put the burst on my 'Infiltrator' load out and the assault on my 'Defender' load out since its looks better for close quarters work.
Only testing will tell though.

I'm saving up SP now. Got my Assault Minmatar to lvl 4 from the triple sp event. Also some other stuff. I might use this active booster next week and put my Electronics and Engineering to lvl 4. |

Proto Assault Combat rifle day 1! If there is a sharpshooter skill with it, that will be maxed day 1 also. Proficiency will have to wait, but if it works as I hope, it shouldn't be too long afterwards. ^_^ |

I'll pick up standard Rail Rifle and perhaps the Combat rifle. Give them a whirl and then pile on the SP if they are legit.
My big question...any idea what the skill trees are for these two weapons?
My assumption for the RR:
RR level - lowers dispersion by 5%???
RR prof - standard damage increase
reload speed - standard increase
Ammo capacity - 5% add'l mag capacity???
CPU/PG optimization - standard increase
The big question is if the will have a sharpshooter skill to further assist in toning down the high recoil mentined by the Devs or perhaps something that will increase the ROF by 3% per level.
Any clues on this, guys? |

I think from what the guys gleaned off the server - only the CR has the sharpshooter skill.
RR level may reduce kick, dispersion shouldnt be an issue. |

Of course, that depends on how well they work, I'm going to play a few rounds using the Standard ones before I go all-in. Yes I will get my Combat Rifle day 1. I like the burst weapons in the game. The Gal burst rifle are inconsistent because it has a really short range on it despite the scope but once you learn how to work it , its actually quite deadly.
I want an all Minnie fit with the CR and SMG and I will be happy. Since the CR does more damage, has more range, and faster fire the Gal imitation. I don't think i'll be disappointed since im used to using the poor model of the burst . Of course i will try it out with aurum just to be safe but im excited I am sitting on 1.5 mill SP via 3x SP event and I still got another 2 weeks to work on the SP for the Operations skill.
Although to those who are waiting for feedback first I don't blame them. I have a feeling at least one of the new guns will be OP and no one wants to be that guy who demands a respec after a well deserved OP weapon gets nerfed but it has happened and yes, history will repeat itself. Of course if anything is going to get nerfed i suspect the rail rifle will be. The numbers look overwhelming in favor of the RR but we don't know how the charge to fire will work and it may have heat buildup issues like the rail turrets since its the same tech.
However, SCR rifles are on the border of suspected OP violations especially the imperial rifle but with the ranges being worked we will only find out how changes will work once 1.7 hits in Dec. |

to get Opp 5 you need about 620k SP, to get Pro 5 you need around 1M

I'm not worried this time because the devs obviously favor assault rifles. They will have the full line-up of racial assault rifles, and I expect the CR & RR to roughly equal the existing options.

Of course if anything is going to get nerfed i suspect the rail rifle will be. The numbers look overwhelming in favor of the RR but we don't know how the charge to fire will work and it may have heat buildup issues like the rail turrets since its the same tech.
However, SCR rifles are on the border of suspected OP violations especially the imperial rifle but with the ranges being worked we will only find out how changes will work once 1.7 hits in Dec.
I don't understand why people think Scramblers are OP. It's just the prevalence of shield tanking and the influx of FOTM scrubs using them, they haven't been changed in the slightest since that one tiny change to the effect of the Op skill.
I might use Combat Rifles, I liked the Allotek burst AR back in the day, but now it has **** range. Hopefully the CR will be better. |

The MagSec is a Caldari SMG. Notice that the assault SMGs are manufactured by Caldari arms manufacturers. Pretty widely speculated that the assault SMG is the place holder for the MagSec. |
