This one month thing just seems like it is putting waaaaay too much pressure on them. Some of the people on this forum seem to think that there should new new content for each new update, even though an expectation like that unrealistically feasible for the size of the team that is working on this game. I do applaud the effort that have been trying put forth with this monthly update schedule, but I just do not think it is fair to them.
Sure, im ok with some balance tweaks here and there for urgent issues, and maybe a hotfix for random bugs (AS LONG AS THESE HOTFIXES AREN'T RELEASED NEAR THE WEEKEND) I wouldn't mind this at all as long as CCP maintains contact with the community, and does not leave us in the dark like what they have done in the past.
Give us pictures, videos, stats, and little blurbs on what is being worked on at any give time. Communication is the only thing I, and nearly everyone here wants. |

Agreed. These rapid patches are nice, but it seems like they put too much focus on one thing at a time.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

IMO the one month update cycles are necessary for now until all the core mechanics are fixed and balance is implemented, as everything seems to be changing too hectically to wait three months for a patch every time hit detection improves and suddenly a new weapon is overpowered. Once the core mechanics are in place and CCP starts adding content I would be in favor of moving to a three month update cycle.

Why? So I can play for three weeks and stop until the next update that comes in 9 weeks? Or play for three weeks, take a one week break and come back the next update like I already do?
The updates keep me coming back.

I agree with @God Hates Lags. If there is a bug fix that's ready to go, I don't want to wait 2 more months for it to get pushed out. Many things can't be hot fixed and require changes to the client and a new download. For example, the annoying bug with the squad finder refreshing was fixed in 1.6. There's no reason for us to have to deal with that for 2 extra months just so it can be bundled in a big update.
Also, they're working on more than just what is pushed out each month. CCP only pushes out fixes when they're ready. For example, the 2 new rifles have been in the works for many months. It's not like they started them after finnishing 1.6GǪ
I expect things to slow down once we have all racial suits, the new rifles (and possibly the racial vehicles) in the game and balanced.

I agree with this, and we're probably only three patches away(1.7, 1.8, 1.9) from good core mechanics and full racial lineups for suits and weapons and maybe some of the vehicles.
The thing that i will miss the most about monthly updates is the ability for us to course-correct quickly.
I support SP rollover.

I personally feel that being left in the Dark for so long is one of the main reasons why I originally did not like the 3 month update schedule. But if that were to change, then I wouldn't mind it.
What's more annoying to this is that no one told them to do updates on a monthly basis, they decided this, yet they can't deliver. hence Soon(tm), pushed back, etc etc excuses. |

I am in disagreement. I mean they're already doing that in a sense already. But not sending out a patch full of fixes when they could is not being helpful.

Monthly cycle simply delivers what is ready so we don't have to wait. Items that take longer will be shipped when ready, such as the vehicle overhaul.

1.5 and 1.6 just had optimization, 1.4 was small but did add new features, our 3 month schedule is still the same in essense plus it keeps me more engaged by look forward to the end of each month.
I personally like it anyways, it keeps me playing dust vs other games.
