So I like to screw around with my scout alt from time to time. Minnie scout still at ADV level, filling highs with extenders, lows with one kin cat e one cardiac regulator.
Atm I'm having a lot of fun with my NK/smg combo but I was considering swapping the knives for a scrambler pistol.
So I love my m209 assault smg, that thing is nasty and melts people (have prof, sharpshooter and rapid reload at 3) but for scrambler pistol I'm a noob, the only things I know are that they chew shields and are perfect to execute snipers for the headshot bonus.
What scrambler pistol should I use? The standard one? Burst? Assault? Breach? (I'm kinda digging the burst or the assault variant) |

If you just want it for head shots, I like the Breach with an enhanced damage mod

I sincerely am not a fan of the idea of dropping one of my extenders for a damage mod, since my scout is an alt I mainly rely on passive sp I still have to skill into complex extenders (stuck at enhanced) and I've not put a single point in damage mods.
My strategy would be the classic: use speed and low profile (I'm under the adv scanners treshold) to get upclose, use the scrambler pistol to quickly drop shields and then switch to my smg to finish the job |

You might like the burst, I just found the successive shots too inaccurate.

With the SCPs it's either headshot or nothing. If you score the headshot even heavy suits die in 3-4 shots, so no need to switch weapons here.
For comedy I'd go with the breach SCP. With some proficiency there's well over 600 damage to a headshot from this beast. It isn't easy to get the timing right, but it's enjoyable when it does work. I found it best to do the "oh no, I'm out of ammo, I need to retreat behind this corner"-act, line up the shot and wait for my prey to smile into the camera.
The assault SCP however is much more reliable and has more value in most situations though. Go with those if you want to be effective in the field. Just bring extra ammo. |

What people above say is.... true... to a point. If all you have is scrambler level 1.
but if you get it to 3, or better yet, level 4... you may find yourself not missing your SMG at all.
other than for the extra ammo, that is :D
The level 3 KLO is quite decent. The level 4 TT-3 is... amaaaazing. And it gets 10 bullets per clip. You can outDPS a basic level AR doing just bodyshots. On top of that, if you land a headshot... !!

Yep- get Ops IV and a TT-3 Assault pistol, and you'll be amazed by its effectiveness. IMO Assault is the best variant, for the slightly faster ROF: just spray at the body/neck and hope for headshots, if you don't get any you'll probably drop them with the sheer DPS. It's pretty much 1 enemy per clip though, unless you can HS consistently. |

The posters above are correct, I was just assuming your use would be complementary to your SMG, but if you skill deeply into it, it's a monster. When squading with Gabriella Grey, I see him use the SCRP almost exclusively to great effect, I believe it's the TT-3 mentioned above.

Pistol advice. I can do that one. I run a scout that pretty much only uses scrambler pistols. Now honestly the assaults are my favorite pistols. They have the best range and RoF which is needed honestly due to hit registration in the game. Headshots are what your always going for. The breaches are good if you can catch people unaware but in the firefights that tend to happen you dont have time for the delayed fire rate. My favorite balanced pistol is the Klo, but the advanced level assault pistol tends to get me a better ratio.
Now for pistols, since I exclusively run them I initially had issues with ammo consumption. That being said the burst pistol uses A LOT of ammo. That and its hip spread leave a lot to be desired on the weapon. However it is a solid choice for a mess around pistol.
Breaches definitely have the punch and can one shot most any suits (provided they aren't tanked out the ass) and can two shot heavies if your aim is up to it. The biggest issue with them is definitely that RoF. If you can take them at short range with superior straffing speed from the hip, good on you but I only play around with them every now and then.
It comes down to the Klo and the TT-3 (I think thats the Assault variant?). The assault takes a decent bit more fitting room than the klo and both are really good choices. Considering I run a plasma cannon on my scouts ( dont ask, i just find it fun!) generally run the klo. The assault is the better choice of the two for performance but the klo is still a very good pistol.
Weapon and fitting specs for main farming build
Valor scout g-1 plasma cannon klo-1 pistol Enhanced profile dampener Enhanced armor plates (Cause I cant fit ferroscale in this build)
Just remember your 450% damage mod to the head with pistols and capitalize on it. Accuracy is the game here. Of course the occasional drowning in bullets is warranted lately with all the proto's around. Use your cover wisely, take headshots when you can get them and good luck with your smg cause I know nothing about them. Sept they shoot lotsa bullets downrange. And have a popup sight which i loled at for hours like an idiot.
