I'm no scout but it seems to me that role is one to play in a way that the enemy doesn't even have a chance to see you. If you continuously give the enemy a chance to shoot at you, maybe you're doing something wrong? What i do know is that there are some scouts out there that are a nightmare to fight against because they will give you very little chance of shooting at them.

give me the suits and modules for them as well as the sp and ill try it out and come up with a conclusion.
ill probably still do good with them though.
so i wont need much worry with ttk.

I have a bunch of scout suits, pretty sure Black Eagle is one of them. I actually used Scout+Shotgun a few times a long time ago and did well enough. Not my style though.

So:
* Open space is a no-no, because everything kills you.
* Close quarters are a no-no, lagless heavy spooling up his HMG will kill you in 0.5sec with some damage mods, skill and zero distance.
* Close to mid range is a no-no, ARs will eat you in 0.1 sec, especially since AA is so strong on them (came from SMG to AR recently -- it's ridiculous how much handicap AR gives).
* SCRs will bring ruin in a single action gory glory of brain scramble or in cauterizing series of shocks. Never knew what hit you.
* You barely have enough HP to survive a mid-height fall, you are slower than some assault and logi suits (hello minnie)
* You have gimped CPU/PG and no special, "scouty" equipment to help you survive. Not to mention the puny slots.
* And boy oh boy try jumping away from grenades in this baby... especially is they don't render until bzzt--BOOOM!
[The last one makes my go: "F*CK! AGAIN!" when I hear the final warning.]
And yeah, there are few proto scouts that are dampened below PRO scanner and carry PRO SCRs on ther PRO GAL suits (you know who you are, BASTARDS), but the rest of us is cannon fodder. Most of the maps we have cater to AR/SCR crowd and you can not sustain stealth on them. You will get cut off from both ends of the corridor and shot down in 0.1 sec. This is why I only play Scout when I want punishment. And I do so on both my chars. I resort to scanning, spying and picking up strays.
But go ahead, run through your Black suits and let us know how it went with the stealth thing.
Because in theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.
Give that scout a scanner. Scouts love scanners!

Playing a scout takes a certain mindset. I play everyday as a scout along with other roles. It took me a while to figure out the scout role, but I have figured it out enough to the point I am now getting kills and being somewhat successful. Its all about stealth, speed, and be as invisible as possible. If your going to use the scout the most important part of equipment I have learned is Biotics. Speed and misdirection is the key to being a scout IMO. If the enemy sees you going one way, double back and hit them from another side.

I logged on and went into an ambush and started repping a black Eagle Scout (think it was arc 08 or something). He got a few kills and then just up and ran away and died.....darn pansie.....he was like a WP fountain.....got at least 200wp of "guardian" from him.

then I'm doing it wrong, sneaking up on reds dealing 0 DMG cause NKs Hit detection is so bad 7/10 times I deal no dmg!
also sneaking up on people is ridiculously hard with THIS involved, making it where even scouts can't flank people on
objectives or installations!
Become a scout today -- and die in 0.1 seconds!!!
