The current death/rebirth thing is kind of.. boring.
Could spice things up with a few animations.
First being the camera looking at your dead corpse and moving upwards, until eventually fading into black and into the spawn selection screen. (If you press the O button to get out of the death screen, the animation will be accelerated)
Once you choose a spawn point, you will see an animation of your clone reanimating with a 10 second spawn timer above.
Once the timer is up, the screen fades to black and you're back into the battle.
The second one could be pre-rendered.

what about the 3 seconds spawns. will the 10 second animation of being reanimated be sped up so it looks like your clone is shot out of a vat. |

Start the animation at a later time.
So if 10 seconds, start from the start.
If 3 seconds, start 7 seconds after the 10 seconds start.

Change the death animation so you stay in first person. When you die, you either fall on your back or front with your head looking to one side. While you're bleeding out, all sounds around you are quieter including a new warning beep and there is a heart beat that slows down as the bleed out timer runs out. Would also need to change the kill screen so it doesn't block your view as much.

Why not have some kind of status scroll like EVE now has when you get pod-killed, or like EVR had when you got shot down?
