I've convinced a friend to download again DUST, he has created his character back in chromosome so he will have a decent amount of sp (at least 7 millions i guess), let's see if he enjoys the game or not.
Of course i will talk to him of protostomping...

He have around 7 millions SP.
He seems to enjoy the game more than before.
Unfortunately he doesn't understand very much how the skill tree works (it takes a little time).
He is starting to understand how fitting system works.
After we have teached him, he understand how to have profit in a match (run cheaper fits)
We have choose for him caldari assault and scrambler rifle (because it take less SP, no SS skill).
He understand how to move in the different maps and what he have to do, to win a match.
Again he seems to enjoy the game and he wants to play, even if it's difficult for him to manage all the aspects of this game.

Good job in getting your friend back into the game!
I'm currently trying the same with a couple of friends- one of them keep their account on passive, so at least they will have more options if/when they return. |

Yep. Good job - I do think the "new player" diary kind of posts are very useful. Of course, I maintain that you can not having a structured new player experience without PvE - there is no other way to teach them piecemeal everything there is to do in Dust in a controlled environment with small quests, rewards, tutorials, etc. It works well in EVE, and they need the same for Dust. |

Another thing that i've already pointed in another post, is about the old market view, with skill books over items.
Have it back would be a great aid for new players, because i know what an ability give to me but a new player don't, the skill book over the item is a great help to make people understand the relationship between modules and abilities.
