You people are crazy. If it was more fun, it's because you were new to the game, or it was new to you. Not because it was better. (Unless you like the HMG I guess) Maybe more of your friends were on and now they moved on to other games. But it had nothing to do with the build and everything to do with you not being a bittervet at the time.
- Had to hard reset your PS3 every 4th round because it would freeze
- The graphics were terribland
- The most OP weapon was the environment; it would kill you, at minimum, once a game. I literally died with nearly full health from what I could only assume was tripping over a rock or the bottom of stairs several times.
- Everyone besides a dampened scout had a bright chevron over their head from redline to redline, stealth and flanking were impossible
- A single HAV could dominate an entire match, just sit in the center of the battlefield and blaze away while anything besides FG would just bounce off it like a tennis ball.
- Free LAVs killed you with the breeze they made when they drove by (also persisted into uprising, to be fair)
- Fewer Thales, perhaps, but snipers were everywhere on wide open bowl maps with no cover at all.
- Way fewer weapon choices

Chrome had somewhat worse aiming then Uprising 1.4 (I know, How dare I think this slight nudge be OK)
I think the HD back then could have had a hand in TTK (If you Skilled your weaponry skill up like me, then you had the exact same TTK as of now, theoretically)
Chromes playstyle was ******* boss, but it was a bit off in the mechanics compared to now.
Get DUST to play like Chrome and CCP is gawd.

That may be true for me. My fondest memories are of Replication, which was the first build that I was around from beginning to end, so most of my thoughts get filtered through Replication instead of Chromosome (Neglecting bugs and unintended features). I may just have fond memories of it because I was new to the game. |
