Would it be possible to get a feature added to instantly level out the dropships? I find it hard to keep my Eryx level, its either Leaning forward or backwards too much, not much to the sides, but forwards and backwards. |

Gods yes. Currently the X button does nothing but cosmetically opens/closes the bay doors. Make it the auto-level button? Or L3?
Make X the Landing Gear button, and L3 the Level Out button. Easy and useful!
Have R3 change camera. |

Sorry guys, but practice makes perfect. You'll get the hang of it eventually.

The militia dropship auto-levels in the current build -- I have to say I don't care for it. I know this is a different request (mapping it to a button), but I'm with Talos in that I prefer that flying stay difficult. That and I want X to kick people out so I can deploy blueberries over objectives! I will call this the Blueberry Jam maneuver. :) |

Dropships currently have a short lifespan in battles, why not at least give us something that will allow our gunners to be a bit more usefull before we die by the inevitable swarm/forge gun spam? Also while your at it, why not a target button, to tell the gunners what you want them to shoot at? Your not always gonna have coms with people in your dropship. |

I don't want to sound rude, but none of that is necessary. Dropships are quite easy to hover stationary once you get the hang of it. As for a target button, get on your mic and talk to your gunners. Spinning the camera around trying to lock on to someone peeking around a corner will only cause you to crash, especially if you're unable to hover as it is.

I understand where this request comes from, but I think it is a mistake.
Auto level is akin to auto aim in that it removes the requirement to practice and gain proficiency.
The thing is, making a task easier doesn't necessarily make it more fun. Removing the need for skill cheapens any reward. It's like bumper bowling where they fill the gutters with plastic pipes so you will always get some pins on the first throw.
Yes you can be more effective sooner, but what is there to brag about now as a pilot? "Hey, I can press the level button better than you"?
Every role in the game must have a combination of character skill and player skill. Implement this and you remove the player skill requirement. Imagine doing this with infantry now. The player with the most skill points invested wins and match play devolves into a simple race for SP.
Infantry players are justifiably proud of their shooting skills and that's why they keep playing. Give pilots the same opportunity. Let them be valuable to their corp due to their player skill at flying. Don't turn the dropship into bumper bowling. |

Valid points I agree, but in the current state the dropships vs AV, an auto-hover would the least of your worries, it would give a bit more support stabilization for team play so you don't have to keep turning and rolling your dropship constantly messing with gunner trajectories.
Most of the time if a decent dropship pilot is in the air, and the enemy team is moderatly cordinated, he will drop out of the sky from forge gun shots while moving. So why not just give the feature to support vehicles? Like the logi dropship?
While youre at it, why not at a feature to tanks to bring the hull to face the direction of a turret? As far as I know, the tanks spotting range is further in the direction the hull is facing, it could also allow for PC when getting shot in the week spots to turn more effectivlky to allow the second hand to use other features more effectivly for defense. |
