I drop an uplink in the city on my way to wherever. Its a good spot, not too obvious but protected from shooters so peeps can enter quite safely, and the first guy to spawn in drops an uplink right beside it..
... and someone drops another there.. and another..
I eventually die and there is at least 10 uplinks in the same place. Now ok, someone might want to be sure mine doesn't pop but wtf!
All your doing is making it obvious where they are (the noise alone should tell everyone within 30m) and giving the enemy extra points when they find them and pop them all with one grenade. Well done -_-
I really hope friendly fire extends to equipment in future FW cus the relentless spam is seriously damaging my calm

And when you say that you shouldnt be able to place links within a certain radius of each other people lose their **** and claim you want them all nerfed into uselessness

They're trying to siphon some points from each other.

Its true. You can see it with Drop Uplinks and Nanohives the most where they're not necessarily being dropped for the good of the team, just for farming.
I find when I snipe I hide my hive to limit the chance of someone seeing me. Likewise well placed hives and uplinks are in places with cover, or in the case of a tense firefight, being dropped in the battle zone to supply those on the front line as they advance.
Its not always a hindrance, just not always necessary. |

Okay, I am not going to claim to understand the logic on this one, and I have also experienced this. As a scout I am fast, I place uplinks carefully in strategic places. I have I carry proto, have three with a limit of two deployed. I only every have two out at a time, but often use all three on my starting run. I usually quick drop one when I am approaching an engagement area, because I am alone and Want a back up to running the length of the map. After that i deploy my next two in the best possible locations. So the slowpoke who matches my first uplink is actually insurance for when mine disappears. Which it will, when I deploy my third uplink. Now I doubt that is the rationale behind this pattern, it can be a benefit in some circumstances.
