I know, I know I sound crazy for trying to nerf the AR but you know what? It makes sense when you think about it. 1.6 helped the gun-game by making hit detection even better but it has also thrown a wrench in the mechanics by letting each player take the full brunt of the damage of an AR weapon instead of only receiving it in 1/3 of the shots fired. I'm guessing CCP had to worry about getting the damage right before and now that they've made the game better(and worse lol) they'll have to re-adjust the game again.
Idk the exact damage reduction but a subtraction of 5-10 damage from each rifle could work...But then wouldn't we have to wait for the other rifles to come in? |

Sigh... Eh. I only play with ARs and I barely touch my SMG(well I used it today). I thought about the Scrambler but...Those things are single shot...well the non-assault variant is.
So sure all direct damage but there needs to be a nerf but I'm barely seeing organized threads, just "THE TTK IS TOO FAST ZOMG." |

Yes all assault rifle variants are easily overshadowing every other weapon since 1.6. The damage even seems to be doing much more than it should be or what has given the game a smoothness at the moment. I have also noticed some weapons hit detection are not registering correctly like the HMG, and scrambler pistols just to name some. Then it seems like others their range of effective damage has also increased. I also think the same goes for the turrets not registering hits as well. At the moment I am starting to dread the ground game until these things are balanced. I am not sure when 1.7 is coming, and yes I understand these changes will take time, but I am already hoping for it to be very soon with the current state of infantry, installations, and small turrets. |

Or an eHP buff. With the exception of missile turrets in early beta and lasers in Chrome, the AR has always been overpowered in comparison to the game's other weapons. I used to think the same thing, but after thinking about 1.4-1.6, I'm started to realize the entire game has been balanced on unreliable hit detection. Now that it's fixed, every automatic and some semi-auto weapons are overly effective, dealing their entire DPS in less than a second. I'm glad that hit detection is finally fixed, but CCP has their work cut out for them in re-balancing everything in the next few patches to bring TTK in line with this game going back to its strafe FPS roots.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Once again you people are stupid as hell. All guns have a relative DPS of 600. The average players total HP is around 600. If DPS is equal to HP then your ******.
All DPS needs to be changed not just the AR. Get your facts right scrubs.

CCP should just remove the 10% damage buff they added with Uprising. That buff was added because of TTK was too low with the bad hit detection back then and it was a temporary fix. Now when hit detection is a lot better, the TTK has increased and that buff should be removed. |

I would like TTK to be increased as soon as feasible. I don't think that the AR should be singled out specifically, however now with improved hit detection and the aim assist feature, Dust is a different game. If this is currently how the game is supposed to be that's one thing, but this is a drastic departure from the previous builds.
Either way, if close to 100% of shots are registering now then balancing should be more of a mathematical problem since the variability has been reduced. Except for knives, I hear.....
I'd like to hear CCP comment on if they intend to increase TTK or leave it as-is (thereby changing the nature of Dust).

First off the range of the lazer has nothing to do with dps. Why you even brought it up is beyond me. ( Although i assume it probably has something to do with your intelligence.) To find the dps of the lazer rifle you have to find out how long it takes to shoot an entire clip. One full clip on the burnstalk shoots in about 13 seconds including cool off time. The lazer does 17 hp of damage per one "burst" of plasma. If one clip has 100 and you multiply 100 by 17 you get 1700. Now that 1700 Hp of damage is dealt over 10 seconds so you divide 1700 by 13 giving you DPS. Which is 130 Hp a second. Now keep in mind the lazer rifle has an increase in damage the longer you hold it on target. Now since we do not know the formula for how they reward that bonus we can not truly know the true DPS of the lazer. But we do know it is over 130 DPS not including skills or damage amplifiers. Which is very far from your .17 a bullet.
And secondly I am a Mass driver' Not an AR scrub. Get your facts right boy.
