Lately ive been seeing a nasty trend that has taken away from the core gameplay of Dust514. Simply , its Grenade514. I suggest that you decrease the amount of grenades from 3 to 1 for all grenades. Add another skill that allows you to use 1 more grenade to a max of 3. Also, increase the resupply cost for getting more ammo. I do not suggest lowering the damage, just the cost of using them.
Could call it grenade profiency.
Level 1, +1 grenade and lowers PG use for grenades by 3% Per level Level 5, +2 grenades and lowers pg use for greandes by 3% Per Level
something like that. |

not a great idea as to many problems would come from it. and most of the nade spam to begin with just involves core locus and adv nades so i dont see this as solving the "problem" |

Most complaints about grenades comes from 'nade spam' which I personally define as repeatedly tossing nades over fence/into room/behind corner while standing on nanohive(s)/depot.
And I agree that is the annoying thing even when I'm using it.
Fix for that: increase grenade resupply rate a lot. 30s for '+1 core locus grenade' would blunten the teeth of worst spammers.
Only after testing those changes should nades be touched (=nerfed) |

Roll back their "short term" buff from beta when hit detection sucked. If that doesn't help, increase the fuse time across the tiers and/or how fast nanohives and supply depots restock them.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Well, I agree that the spaming of grenades is a problem, but lets try something to make it harder that would work well and be easy to implement.
So, when an actual soldier gets out a grenade, he has to detatch it from his gear pull the pin and throw, this takes quite a bit longer than the insta throw that we have in dust right now. If this was implemented, grenade throwing would end up being more tactical and less spam, as they simply could not throw them nearly as fast as they do now. Also, make it like a weapon where it is selected first.
If that does not work try something more drastic, but I would prefere just adding some realism to reduce spaming as oppesed to added skills or nerfing of the grenade itself. |

"HERO" wp 100. suicide yourself by picking up enemy grenade and taking the full force of the blast while in proximity of a friendly player within the grenades predicted blast radius. while hero grenading, friendlies in the blast radius are not affected by the blast but if you take it back to the enemy the grenade blast will affect the enemy.
crouch below the blast wave (seeing as we don't have prone yet) to mitigate a substantial amount of the blast. grenades blast up and out. its possible to be below the shrapnel blast and not get hit at all.

also have you ever tried throwing a grenade in RL. i have thrown alot during my service and they are far from easy to spam especially with the chance you might drop it and blow yourself up. you see your target, you pull the grenade out of its pouch(you certainly dont have them clipped to the outside of your gear) this takes about 2-3 sec's. pulling the pin and then the motion of throwing the grenade takes about 1-2 secs at least. thats atleast 4-5 secs from pressing the grenade button to the grenade leaving your hand. none of this instant grenade throw we currently have.
i watched a guy the other day and he didnt fire a single shot. all he did was spam grenades and remote explosives from a resupply. it was endless spam for most of the fight.
Slightly off topic but in the brothers in arms games which were basically band of brothers turned into a game, you could kick the grenades away if you was quick enough.
I also saw someone go 50/7 with grenades about a week ago.

Personally I think all equipment should be limited like the vehicles to a maximum number active across the field, so all this spamming is cut short.
Resources should not be something thats is not an endless supply but, something that should be used as and when needed. This will have a knock on effect to push people into level 5 equipment and items like nanohives behave as their designed to :IE replenish more quicker and last longer.
This will stop people from grouping together too in fear of an orbital destroying all equipment. |

Exactly what are these "many problems" you're talking about? Grenade resupply should definitely be nerfed slightly, although not quite as much as the OP suggested.
