Ok, I love this game. Even though game modes are currently very limited and the game lacks of variety, I can play DUST for several hours and have fun with it.
However, let me tell you that the current system for increased SP Cap is insane.
Basically, we get a 3x SP Cap, but more or less 1.5x SP from matches. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to grind all these SP and I'm finding out that this system really breaks the purpose of the SP Cap: these Events reward hardcore gaming and penalize people who have just few hours a day to play.
Currently I work part-time, so I have enough time for myself, but I still find nearly impossible to play that long. Not only because of the limited time that I can put into this, but because it pushes me to play when I would rather do something else or play a different game.
Events end up being exhausting and frustrating instead of entertaining. That's what you get if you don't want to miss the extended Cap and be left behind. This is the purpose of the SP Cap, to prevent hardcore players to gain an excessive advantage, and this mechanic totally breaks it.
And I'm trying to reach the Cap for ONE character, not all 3 of them, that's really out of question and if someone is actually doing this (assuming you can spend your whole day in front of your TV screen)... well, I don't even want to comment.
I rarely hit the weekly cap with my main character normally, so I'm really struggling to hit the extended Cap.
CCP, I understand that you wanted to discourage AFK'ing by having the bonus only affecting active SP gained from WP, but in the end it's much easier to go AFK (those people running in circles in my MCC...), because at least you can do something else and you don't get bored with the game, even if it takes much longer.
There is a simple way to fix this:
Keep the bonus just for the active SP gained from WP, but double it: In other words, if you give us a 2x SP Cap, give us 4x Active SP; and if you give us a 3x SP Cap, give us 6x Active SP. Very simple, very effective. And something tells me that those people headbutting the MCC will completely disappear! Magic? No, just a smart idea.
This is something you should worry about.
