So I have to admit when I'm wrong and recently in a couple threads I've stated that heavies can still fill their intended role and can still be a force to be reckoned with, however, after playing for a couple hours today clearly the HMG needs to retain its damage buff while CCP takes back the 10% it gave to all other weapons.
Why? Because today in my Adv Minmatar assault with the adv. assault SMG I have out 1 v 1 almost every heavy with HMG I've encountered and when I have lost the 1 on 1 gunfights the heavy would be left with less than 100 HP. I have proficiency 3 and sharp shooter 5 with SMG so it is a beastly little weapon in that Minmatar suit's hands and yes I have used my speed advantage in that suit, but still the SMG shouldn't be able to hang with a HMG for DPS like that.
So yeah heavies need more help than just a EHP buff, you've given them only 2 weapons, 1 primarily anti infantry and 1 primarily anti vehicle and the anti infantry one doesn't seem to be cutting it compared to all the other weapons out there. We don't need a return of the Chromosome 50 kill heavy suit death machines, but we also don't need assaults coming upon a heavy with HMG close range and winning IMO.

They most certainly should be, just not ridiculously so. Like I posted, in Chromosome it was not at all uncommon for heavies to be 50/2 in a match. I was in Tritan Industries which was known as the "Heavy corporation" and I was logibro for many of these heavy kill rampages where my heavy buddy would just wreck people while I repped and kept him or her supplied with ammo. It was practically unbeatable. We don't need those levels of HMG or heavy, but certainly better than what the poor fatboys have got going now. |

When goofing around I sometimes use a Dren sentinel with dren shotgun, toxin SMG, and a watch saga it is pretty effective for being essentially BPO minus modules and grenade and me having no skill with any of those.
Oh and heya Medic! |

Rule of any RPG/MMORPG: "Always kill the white mage first" If the dumberries just followed that simple rule, your little buddy system would have been toast. that means things werent really that broken then; people were just stupid. (that is to say, heavies werent broken. Logis were and still are broken with the amount of tank they can fit :P )
Yes and no, yes I did (and still to this day do) tank my logi suit at the cost of killing effectiveness, but I was also pretty good at hiding behind my heavy and yelling into the mic "They're shooting me! Get 'em, get 'em!" LOL |
