This is the most memorable thing for me back in the Vegas presentation, the promise of more MMO for the game so I'm curious.
What aresome of the MMO based features we could look forward to in the near future, let's say summer next year.

I wouldn't mind some Co-Op PVE.
I'll come back in a couple years.
Maybe then they'll be talking about starting to develop it. |

Well, summer next year we might manage to get around to adding, say, one of the missing suits. Just one, mind. All of them would be a little much to expect.

I too am curious....
More seamless going from one area to another actually walk to the area you want to be in make it seem a little more open, PVE, The ability to go places.. maybe longer fights (or no timer.... fight till someone surrenders lol) Having to move from battlefield to battlefield as a group until your taken the planet.
I also think that while the EVE/DUST link needs to be more present, DUST shouldn't be so dependant on someone in eve initiating things.... I don't play FW or PC but it sounds like the eve players must make a contract for mercs to take a district - is this right? I Imagine a DUST where the clones on the ground can be just as in charge as the ones in the sky... I'm thinking along the lines of 'We mercs are taking this planet... hey eve bitches give us cover'. I don't know much about FW/PC that as I'm generally bad at the game lol.
As an eve player the ability to see the dust Barges will greatly enhance the presence of Dust in the universe and I don't think they should all be piloted by eve players. If you are a one man or a small group outfit maybe you can have a smaller barge that's cyno/jump drive capable (cyno = cynosoral fields and jump drives are one way ships jump from point to point in eve) to do stuff on different planets i.e. missions, planetary exploration, take part in incursions (another eve mechanic but a ground based version, assassinate other players (who have bounties). Are we all mercs or can I decide I want to be a clone bounty hunter (or is that to much boba fett?)
Have a new mechanic in eve where planetary infrastructure can be blighted by drones and lose productivity and mercs have to clear it out (this would be a contract from an eve player) as a form of pve.
To reduce the dependency on eve you should be able to jump your mini barge to planetary beacons that are above each district but if you have an eve player co-operating you can go further and faster. This increases the link however as eve players can see you moving about the universe.
The world of dust needs to be more explorable and persistent imo... and yes I know its the same universe as eve but you cant feel the size of it from dust its just a couple of rooms and a fight which although the fight happens on different terrains - its just anther 20 minute frag fest really).
To put the MMO into the MMOFPS you must be able to interact with other characters in more ways than currently available and more seamlessly, ie not suddenly going from your room, to another room which fades.. now I'm on a planet... and also to be able to see more of New Eden and not just take some ones word you are there. |

Heck, last time I asked a DEV a question on the forums I got 20+ hate mails saying that... well It might offend people if I posted what they said. But the point is 9 times out of 10 you are better off just not asking.

No publically available updates, I am sorry but you won't know about this until it will likely come from the EP himself, CPM is working closely with CCP Rouge and the plans he is making.
To that end don't expect an update anytime soon(tm) because nobody here knows when it will get done and ready.
I am sorry but that's how things are behind the closed doors and I strongly feel that the NDA is strongly warranted in cases like these.

I think the first and easiest way for everyone to interact at some level is when the market opens up, especially if the market can tie into trade and industry with EVE as well.
If the miners in the belts and the governors robbing their planets of resources sell to the manufacturers who then contract haulers to move goods to market which eventually end up in your hands on the battlefield that is a whole lot of interaction and dependency. It may not be face to face but it all ties together. If you are then contracted to clear out that rogue drone infestation at the colony then you've gone full circle.

Probably just more hyperbole tbh.
Like Ambulation having a point. Or Seagulls vision which will probably never come anywhere close to fruition.
CCP likes to throw around buzzwords, visions and other propaganda devices to keep people playing.
In ten years I've seen very little of their roadmap actually manifest itself.
They do, however, do useful stuff that is not entirely without quality. |

"More MMO"?
Doesn't sound like something to look forward to. We all ready have "MMO progression" pushing new players away and preventing more from joining.
We also have "MMO Clan Wars" that don't really serve a purpose except to get EVE players to care about what we're doing. Spoiler: They don't.
Unless they're talking about like... random chance loot boxes which will give you 5x worthless consumables with the hopes of winning something slightly less terrible for $2.50 a pop. I could see CCP doing that.
Things they could do? Well, they could make monthly fees mandatory AND offer micro-transactions for the gullible. They could also give veterans more ways to abuse, grief and harass newbies and on another, that's always fun.
They could also sell us "expansion packs" every couple months that adds the same type of content we all ready own but "with a twist" to keep things fresh and exciting.
They might even add half-naked pre-teen crossdressing boys and girls into the game to compete with the Korean and Japanese MMO market.
Fetch quests.... oooo yeah. They might add fetch quests that can be repeated daily to improve your standing with a faction to unlock shoulderpads for your merc that are bigger than your torso.
They might even add a "breasts" slider and jiggle physics for female mercs; I bet the kids would love that. Hell, give the males breasts and jiggle physics too; CCP's own twist on the MMO genre.
Oh the list goes on for things they could add to make this game more "MMO-like".
Also yes, hyperbole, sarcasm and maybe a little bit of inappropriate for good measure. Basically MMOs aren't that great, and I hope they don't look at other games and try to emulate them.

And finally, to top it off, CCP could put a literal sandbox in every map. One that you can interact with and move things around. Also there's cords that connect to EVE while EVE players STILL don't give a **** about what we're doing. The only interaction is them telling us this game should be more like EVE and that we're inferior for playing on a ten year old machine. They also ask us to stop playing in their sandbox all the time. Oh man! The level of interaction with EVE will be FANTASTIC! I will have sand in my virtual backside ALL THE TIME with that feature!
Also yes, hyperbole, sarcasm and maybe a little bit of inappropriate for good measure. Basically MMOs aren't that great, and I hope they don't look at other games and try to emulate them.
Sorry to Bump this thread after weeks of nothingness.....
MMO doesn't mean giggly boobs to most people and it sure doesn't mean it to CCP. What I meant in my post when I said I wanted more MMO is freedom. I want to be to play but not necessarily fight all the time just to try and make cash. Suppose I can get given a mission that takes place on a world in lowsec that happens to be contested, while i'm carrying out my mission someone is fighting over the other side of a hill - I might have had to pilot my ship around your battle to get to my landing site and risk getting shot down.
Maybe I can sit on said hill having tracked someone to that world who has a bounty on him and blow his head off from 150m while he is doing something else (a mission of some sort) as a bounty hunter style merc that has been paid to do a hit.
I hope this game can be more than a couple of rooms and a combat field (as I stated in my previous post) and become more open - That's an MMO to me. Not boobs.

if I have anything to say about it, PvE will be in dust at some point, even if only as a tutorial system for new players.
