I'm looking to coordinate an international test on the Corporate Wallet mechanics by incorporating the latency effects of multiple worldwide servers. Is 6am PST or 14:00 GMT the best time to conduct something like that?
The idea would be to have people donate 50 or 100 isk to the corp wallet (not 50 or 100 thousand, just small change iskes). In timing with an atomic clock all members would attempt to withdraw the corporation's wallet at the same time. I highly doubt that isk duping is possible, wherein the mass of requests would create free duplicated isk withdraws. If it doesn't work, the person who completes the withdraw gets the testing bonus which they may choose to keep or give back.
Community feedback and translation services are highly appreciated.
If CCP, has already conducted a test like this with Dust 514 I would be highly interested to find out....and still try myself.

Sounds like you have a pretty interesting test on your hands there! Unfortunately a test like this would be in violation of our EULA. You can read more about it here.
Under Conduct(6):

So basically do it, but do it in secret? :)
Anyways, ISK duping would ruin the game, so I hope that there is no way out there to do it and would be against working to try and find ways to do so.

Quite surprised by this response, i always saw CCP as wanting to test their systems to the limit and then resolve any potential issues as they come up
if i remember correctly when these kind of things were posted on the EvE forums the Dev's would arrange with the playerbase the best time to do it and then have people ready to watch the impact and fix any issues it causes
time dilation being a good example, advanced notice being given to CCP for large fleet battles etc |

I think that the Dev's may still be able to grant an exception to the EULA on a case by case basis in order to run tests, but you should probably contact the Dev's and get the OK ahead of time. If they think it would be a useful test then they can be monitoring it when it goes down, so they can deal with any unexpected consequences.
Mintchip, as a part of the Community team, probably does not have the authority to authorize something like this. You would need to get an actual Dev on board. |
