Yulai GÇô CONCORD's request that capsuleers assist in an assault on high-priority targets has been amended with a warning of potential retribution from enemy combatants. "We have reason to believe that our assault on this threat to New Eden will be met not only with open hostility, but with a cold and calculated counterblow," said Kilkkuken Mallen, CONCORD representative. "There are powers at work here that do not have the best interest of New Eden at heart, and they are gathering their forces as we speak. We fear we will have to deal with considerably greater opposition than originally expected, so we implore capsuleers yet again to side with the forces of all that is right and just - and, again, leave all the cleaning up to us."

I trust that CONCORD is capable, though I am worried of potential traitors.
Quite interesting.
Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened.

After going there and seeing the chaos ensue, I'll give you a synopsis of what happened:
Everyone gathered up on Meves and Sarum Prime, then came representatives from all the empires telling us where to go. The Fed-Matari fleet went to Syndicate space, while the Cal-Amarr fleet went to Curse(both are nullsec space), apparently to target some Serpentis and Guristas research facilities and take them out. Half of the fleet was left behind because the orders were given out in local, which was drowning in spam from all the pilots there. The other half who did get the orders and moved to their locations were subsequently blown up in gatecamps by RAZOR fleet and Goonswarm. The remainders who managed to get past the gatecamps and to the actual sites, were met by heavy resistance by Serpentis, Guristas, RAZOR and Goonswarm fleets, and were quickly obliterated.
No orders of any kind came from the supposed organizers of this call to action aside an order to move to the location and shoot at a thing, which caused a lot of capsuleers to be mad since they lost quite expensive ships. I was aboard a cruiser which managed to squeeze through the gatecamps and watch the battles happening over the research facilities. It wasn't too pleasant when I was ejected into the vaccuum of space after the cruiser I was occupying got blown up and the capsuleer manning it ejected.
At least the explosions were pretty and watching the raging ensue on the public channels when the call to action was falling apart was amusing.

So the question then stands, did RAZOR and the Goons know the fleets were coming through? Or were those standard patrols?

The destinations of the empire fleets were publicly broadcasted, and the destinations were right in the middle of heated battlezones. It didn't take much part for the nullsec alliances to organize a good defense while the disorganized empire fleets were slogging through 20 jumps into nullsec.

Yes, the capsuleer call to arms was an utter failure on the offensive part, but it was mainly due to bad decision making and lack of communication, which could be blamed on the individuals organizing. I'm fairly certain that if the empires really wanted to take nullsec, they could do it.

It was also an utter failure because the assault was publicly announced. Many from High Sec and Low Sec have better things to do than come to the aid of the law.... whereas in Null Sec it proves to be a valuable thing to denounce and destroy this entities attempts to bring law to their lawless territories.

Gods and spirits....
From the sounds of things here and on the capsuleer IGS, the whole thing was poorly organized and ended up just running a steady flow of victims into what the nullsec alliances consider a border checkpoint.
I wonder what the Cartel was up to that got the empires in such a disastrous snit. The Angels are not exactly bad at technology. |
