Currently I am experimenting with Shield Tank Fits and generally mucking about with vehicles of the Shielded persuasion so I know how they operate.
They are so vastly different from Armour Tanks, worse of course but more interesting IMO. Its also tough not being able to use the High Tier Heat Sinks and Nitrous Boosters.
SO my current Gunlogi fit is
Heavy Shield Extender I Shield Extender I Heavy Shield Booster 2x Surge Shield Hardeners
ADV Compressed Rail
Its kinda cool fighting with other tanks at 100m+.... kind of how I think all tank battles should be, not brawls at 30m but real tank battles.
Claimed 3x Well fit Madrugars tonight using this ****** build.
Any tips from real shield tankers on how to do this well and fits that I could use. Pyrex had a good one on his channel.

Honestly the best way to improve a shield tank in the current game build is to skill into an armour tank.
The difference isn't even funny.
2 equally skilled tankers in a shield and armour tank will always have one outcome, well done if you've managed to crack a few armour tanks but it's just shocking how much better they are.
If you absolutely must use shield, Maybe drop the rail for a missile launcher? I prefer them only because they bring the armour tanks to a more level playing field with the bonus damage to armour and allow you to fit better extenders. |

Oh I know, SGT NOVASTAR was pissed I manage to take down his tank he called in the almighty blaster Gunlogi, which I also have good fits for, and proceeded to show me what happens when an armour tank gets close to you..... what I don't want to mention is how my corpie and I cocked up hunting him down with two tanks and over heated both guns as he was running away.

i would love to see that. although its an armour tank. i would say falchion> soma.
ranges with 100m < = vayu win ranges with 100 > = falchion is just trolling the **** out of you with those missiles that have nearly the range of a railgun.
ever seen a falchion sit back behind all its team mates and fling missiles at you............ get behind with a vayu and burn it. |

Best way to armour tank is to ram the shield tank before ruining his day with blasters. No matter how well fitted it is, the initial ram will either kill or cripple it.
Then it's a case of mopping up what's left.
I tell you this as the shield tanker who gets rammed =[ |

I have this: High 1 heavy shield extender azeotropic 2 or 3 passive hardeners ( if 2 passive then i put 1 active) 1 heat sink Low 2 Damage mods
It's good for sniping, if you have to move around don't use it.

iv been dabeling with my fits again eek. try the fits bellow out. they all work as buffer tanks and will take allot of av before you have to panic they are all based around appearing dishing out damage taking some damage then disappearing. these tanks all rely on passive regen yes it is pittyfull and you can be out of the fight for up to 2 mins while you regen but they work and take allot of punishment.
Buffer blaster
Low slots- 1 local power diagnostic system 1 highthrough put field stabaliser II
High slots 1 heavy azetropic ward shield extender , 2 ward shield amplifiers and 2 surge shield reinforecments
large turret - 80gj ion cannon
small turrets ay 2 st missiles
the above tank can also be altered to a rail or missile and can carry 2 damage mods in the lows, you will have to retreat to rep but when is up to you.

what you want is to replace the small shield extender with a nitros.... get a heavy shield extender azerpotopdivcvfsdghgews whatever thats called and 2 passive 15% resistances. Active are only good if you are going to protect your self for 12 seconds form balster fire, in 10 seconds the armor tank will be ate half HP either from your railgun or from missiles.
My fir its heavy aze extender, 1 complex diagnostics and 15% pg extender. 2 15% resistances, clarity ward booster. 5665 shield and 33.7% resistance and has nitros.

I forgot to say the turrets, i use proto compressed rail. For little turret i mount 2 little rails, they are not annoying if people camp in your tank and a good gunner can snipe with them, they have a range of more than 200 meters and a very good zoom and rendering (they are better than big turrets for rendering) I try not put active modules in shield tanks, because shield booster are not as effective as armor reppers and shield hardeners lasts to short. Without active modules i can focus on driving and shooting.

ugh, passive recharge. I like the shield hardener, I run my PC blaster with just one.
Heavy extender 2 ward shield amps heavy clarity booster shield hardener
Pg booster 15% x2
ADV Scattered Blaster
Soaks it up for 10 seconds, enough time to determine how much damage you are taking, and retreat or advance/mow em down. Just save it until you are taking some damage, takes forever to recharge.
Lost some to a few maddies as well, but they hold up far longer than my other fits. That shield hardener really eats up some damage.

i killed 3 madrugars with a sica once. granted i have max skills in vehicles and my sica was a full crew, but i only used standard turrets to do it. so no... shield tanks arent unusable. armor just happens to be easier to fit and it lets you use the more useful mods. |

yes the passive recharge is a pain but the longest iv had to take cover for was about 2 and a half minutes that can seem like a long time but when it takes them 5 or 6 minutes to get you that far then its not that long at all. the trick to buffer and resist tanking is to keep moving even fit a local pg diagnostic system to up your pittyfull shield recharge and shields a bit. the fit dose work but only for medium term engagements and if you are using a rail its actually quite formidable , I smashed 3 maddys today with a rail on the fit I described
