Agreed. If I get a WP for assisting my team so much the better, but keeping my slayers in the fight is the main thing. |

I've lost count of the number of times I've successfully battle revived someone, and the immediate advantage of having another gun has won many fights, especially when the enemy has now turned their backs to what they thought was just a dead body. However, doing battle revives requires that you have at least a KIN-012 injector and a repair tool, otherwise there's no chance your patient will survive. It also works better when reviving armour tanked suits as they will have more health when revived, heavy suits even more so. I think you might see more battle revives with the LP exclusive Nanite Injector as it will restore 100% of armour on revive - and for a heavy, that's a lot of health.

That might just be one of the things I'll be bringing up as a talking point next time I speak to GD. ...Does that actually happen? I don't run Logi that often, and I do know that for attack-orientated roles Proto gear vastly increases your WP take.
But, I mean for Logis, isn't this the case: Proto revives teammate = 60 WP quickly heals the small HP missing = (let's randomly say) 30 triage points
Standard revives teammate = 60 WP slowly heals the large HP missing = (let's randomly say) 90 triage points
Under the current mechanics, don't you get more opportunity for WP when using crappy equipment? |

CCP logibro, if theres going to be nanite injectors at 100% repairs, will there possibly be in the future fanction items that revive people with even better stats then what they originally had in the first place? Like temporary boosts to that persons suit? Or maybe extra armor on top of the stuff they had to begin with?
Of course, that's all it should be.... extra. Kind of like GTA4/5 with body armor. You get it, and have extra health, but its not like eating food (or getting reps) will repair that extra bit of HP should you lose it.
I think stuff like that would be cool to have on nanite injectors, and possibly giving bigger WP rewards depending on how much health each injector gives back.

Aeon Amadi wrote:CCP Logibro wrote: I think you might see more battle revives with the LP exclusive Nanite Injector as it will restore 100% of armour on revive - and for a heavy, that's a lot of health. This is something that's been plaguing our concerns on Skype, by the way. The issue is that, without a player market, players are entirely dependent on having to choose a side - not because they want to fight for that faction, but because they want the gear their LP store offers. Obviously, implementing a player market is another high end goal but there are some implications set by that; considering that, as a Gallente Assault user, I would have to fight for two factions at once to get the gear I would like. So, I suppose a better set of questions is this: - Is there any consideration toward developing a low-level baseline player trading as opposed to an entirely new system that ties into the economy? - Will standings drop for the opposing faction in the first iteration, or is it possible to achieve good standings with multiple factions at once? - Any consideration toward allowing items in the LP store to be purchased with 'General LP', similar to CONCORD LP in Eve Online, until a player trading system is established?
Im not CCP but I think I can answer some of your questions/concerns. CCP has said multiple times now that the Player market is coming soon. Not soon tm, but "soon" and its supposed to happen very quickly after the faction warfare patch which is rumored to be around 1.8/1.9 Now by player market I mean "player to player trading" but that's still fantastic if you consider that P2PT will allow for huge in-game chat channels to open up and effectively run as "normal" markets. This will make it so that people wont "have" to pick a side. Though mathematically it is possible to get lvl 10 on all four factions.
I did the math and it would take approximately 15,000 WINS spread between each faction in order to get lvl 10 on each one. If you just want two "opposing" factions (like Amar/minmatar for example) Then it will only take around 7,000 Wins between both sides.
If you just want to get lvl 10 on two allies (for example gallente/minmatar) it should only take around 3,000 Wins between the two sides. So yes, you could get level 10 on each nation in FW and yes, its a HUGE grind. But hey, do whatever you wanna do man! FW is going to be where all the heavy hitters go, especially considering they intend to eliminate the isk rewards in it.

Might add another layer of strategy if FW items could only be used on the specific racial suits. It would also create significant difference between racial suits and play styles. |

I'm a heavy and I hate injectors. I wish there was a way to immunize myself against them. Losing a proto suit is nothing compared to the annoyance of precious seconds lost as I'm dragged away from the respawn screen to an unavoidable death. A revive that results in a death soon after should be +60 for the revive then -60 (similar to friendly fire in PC). |
