If I'm using my sniper rifle sight, I can see ammo tech and uplinks, but can I actually hit them with my sniper rifle?

I've tried, but never seen the little red x appear. or the little red dot for that matter.

Just wondering if the programming is there or should I just stop wasting ammo. Is the height of a tech device such that a sniper could hit it from the side? Or do I have to be at a minimum angle to hit it?

 As an add on -

This would be a nice thing for Mass Drivers to offer - a Flux / anti tech grenade.

Or maybe anti tech ammo for all weapons - really long reload times to and from and distance is cut.

You completely can. I snipe uplinks all the time, though they're extremely hard to hit from the side so I mostly do it from towers/mountains. You don't get a red dot, you just have to learn where on the big uplink icon to aim to hit the actual piece of equipment.

You can snipe equipment, but they are very flat, so for best results try not to be on the save level. Elevation helps quite a bit.

As for your MD idea, its sort of not needed since nobody runs the MD without flux grenades, so MD users always have great anti equipment capabilities.

That said there has been a fair bit of discussion recently about different ammo types, both for MD's and for other weapons. If i remember correctly smoke grenades for MD's were a popular idea. Although with how much equipment gets spammed most matches sometimes it feels like we need a flux MD to keep it all in check

There are some games where everyone on both sides is dropping something and then the very next game I'll be the only guy with a fitting that has an uplink.

It's frustrating sometimes to have to change your mindset so drastically.

 oh well.
