**** it! I say nerf it all and let god sort it out. There's way too many weapons that are "only good at proto" around here.

To respond to the OP, I'd like to see where the AR is after the range debuff in 1.7. Plasma weapons are supposed to be very powerful, but only up close. And with a >50m optimal, (short compared to the roughly +65m of the other AR racials iirc), it may be alright, but we'll see.

The AR's damage dropoff formula needs looking at. When my GEK is over 20% effective at 100M, while the laser rifle drops to <10% just 10 meters past its optimal, something is wrong. |

The AR does not need a nerf. The only changes necessary are either:
1) Give every automatic weapon the Sharpshooter -5% dispersion/level skill
or
2) Remove Sharpshooter from AR and SMG
Pick 1 or 2, and weapon balanced.
