Be careful what you wish for.
All this crying about logi's who've found ways to make their suits successful fails to take into account the consequences if equipment deployment becomes unfeasable. (Logi's will switch to suits that have two weapons and are playable.)
So:
No more repair hives for you to suck up at no cost to yourself. Die more.
Hope the blue dot next to you with a needle isn't just a point ***** and actually carries a rep tool...oh wait...then he'd be a logi. Scratch that advantage too. Better hope he carries a proto needle.
Run to a supply depot with low or no ammo in hopes of not losing your precious fitting. Some of us will be destroying or camping those, btw, so the game will become much more narrow in strategic options and every fight will be more centered around supply depots instead of diverse objectives. Oh, now that I mention it, have you noticed how few and far between those supply depots are?
Spawn at the MCC and run to the frontline, but have no doubt, good opposition will most definitely capitalize and have AV available. Your LAV's will be nearly useless in this case. (Goodbye drop links)
You need logibros. Consider the ramifications.
I, for one, am glad that its worth it for logi's to stack armor and shields and damage mods to make their lack of weapon diversity work for them.
Get better at what you do and choose not to be a victim of your own consequences. Every dropsuit has advantages that can make it work well. Rather than cry about nerfing your friendly neighborhood logi, how about looking at what YOU or CCP can do to make your play style more competitive. Of course, that will require some thinking and creativity.
Crying because you can't figure out your own way in the game is juvenile and weak. |

But while I hate the idea of nerfing logis to require equipment slots to be filled, I will always use the logistics. I find playing medic to be more enjoyable than any of the roles I play.
I'm with ya. I enjoy supporting the team too. Not just my squad, the whole team.

On a side note, I'm happy with were logis are, it's the Caldari that are slightly OP, they can dual tank and get over 1k ehp when amarr logi was supposed to be the dual tank......but I still love my logi ak0 Really? I found Minmatar logis to be good dual tankers They keep the same exact slot layout as the Amarr Logistics (except the sidearm and an addition equipment slot at STD) I've always found the Minmatar to be dual tankers Some may be dual tankers but amarr were intended to be the true dual tankers. Caldari was supposed to be middle of the road but more shield oriented, minmatar were supposed to be shields and gallente were supposed to be armour tanks.
Intentional or not, the armor buff changed that. You'd be crazy not to sacrifice some speed for armor in this build. |

Doc Noah wrote:What makes you think they even play as a logi? Most of the assault logi I know, only carry a MLT or STD needle and 1 or 2 nanohives that they ONLY drop when they need it.
Then they aren't scoring the points that everybody is crying about. WP for equipment deployment is sensible. Every extra effort a logi makes is a step away from combat, ie. they are not playing the game for that minute, but are taking actions which support the team war effort. You benefit even if you choose to ignore that fact. A logi who plays as you decribed is still benefiting the team through their self service, while a logi who goes to extra effort to deploy links and other things gets more points for his efforts.
It that isn't clear to you, indicating that you haven't thought through the options, then I'm inclined to think you are not exploiting the advantages of your own build either. Don't try to drag logi's down, build yourself up.
For instance...suppose that logi you refer to stopped at the beginning of the match and deployed hives at objectives and links in strategic locations. That equipment now sends him a few residual points for every player who uses them,( with limits.) After that he deploys to the front line with a few hives that benefit him and his allies. If you can't see how many ways you benefit from that...well... Don't blame us for using our brains. You might not even be noticing the extra effort he made, but you sure do notice when there are no links on the battlefield. I know you do.
Do you have any idea how much it costs a good logi to die? In the majority of cases 1 death is enough to make him lose isk on that match. Those hives you feel entitled to are freakin' expensive.
Pay attention to the details and a whole new world will open up. Those who choose to close their minds to the possibilities are the ones doing the crying. |

Crying because you can't figure out your own way in the game is juvenile and weak. I Want logi's to be logi's... this is completely biased as i am an assault however. You guys need bonus's on your suit's that give you bonus's to equipment efficacy and fitting.... Right now its all tank based bonus's.. with massive fitting abilities and slot's to fit things in. making it the best suits for all situations. You guy's can't even be logi's right now with TTk where it's at... this game is confused.
Agreed. If I ran my logi the way I'd really like to I'd get 10 to 20 deaths in every match and probably no more points or even less than I do right now. As it is, without stacks of armor and shields the fit is not playable...so if that is fact and not just opinion, we're getting qq'd for doing what we have no choice but to do..

everyone except heavies that need ammo carries ammo.
There are no true logibros, i never get SUCESFULLY revived by anyone, only revived to be killed.
AND YEAH! we do need logibros, but what we have is Assaults V2.0, so no we dont have logibros ANYWAYS.
You know a support class is broken when my Amarr LOGI A/1 series outpreforms,my commando, scouts and heavy and EQUALLS my amarr assault (only becasue of the bonus i get to SCR)
That's all pretty subjective. I can't agree that we have no logi's, even if they look a little different than they used to. My point is, don't try to get CCP to Nerf logi's when what is really needed is to build up some of the other classes. (Repeat "some")
I'm thinking you may be missing the point all together. The bottom line is, the logi class is an essential element, and to support the team you have to divert yourself from the more entertaining tasks of battling. It ought to be rewarded.
Would you chop off one leg if it outperformed the other, or would you try to build up the weaker one?
And dude...you seriously skilled into commando? Talk about jacked up... I feel for ya'. |

It's also untrue that everybody who can carry ammo has it covered. One of my favorite assault players most famous (infamous?) tag line is, "I need ammo." A lot of the folks I run with prefer to carry needles so we can save each others suits, for instance.
That's a one sided argument to a multifaceted issue. |

As a real logi I do the following:
1. If you want to be revived you gotto wait for me to clear the area first......If I don't revive you its either that I had to run away or died. 2. I don't carry a rep tool so I throw 2 alloteck repairing nanohives at your corpse before I will revive you so you can be healed when you stand up (most ppl run away tho). 3. I drop uplinks when we get near enemy Null cannon, so backup can arrive faster. 4. I lay down hellfire from my EXO-5 to make enemies run like chickens and die to our asault brothers. 5. I throw a flux to destroy enemy uplinks/hives and whatnot.
It's a full time job and still I get accused to be a assault logi since I can net around 20 kills per match.
Excellent example. You play your role well so you must be OP or abusing the suit or some other unacceptable tactic that is only unacceptable because it works well against the folks who don't want to work for the win.
Maybe we ought to just create Dust welfare. Mercs that can't engage their skills and survive in he real world can live off of our leftover biomass. Oh man, that's a troll post worth making.
Score one for the real players, unentitled, hard workin' logibros. |
