I've only played a few matches today, out of ISK and kind of just, burnt out on DUST right now. Anyways, I was messing around with tower sniping to get a feel for the new changes to splash, and just from my brief observations it seems like that was just the change we needed. It seems like now, if you don't get that direct hit, you just aren't going to kill anything aside from maybe an unlucky scout.
I'm just curious about what differences others have noticed, especially in PC matches where it was really an issue. As far as I can tell, it seems like that was just the change we needed to really take TFG'ing down a notch.

It's nice that it takes a degree of skill now. I think more snipers will start using the tactical variants to take out forge gunners, if they get the first headshot they can really whittle you down or straight up kill you before you can waddle back into cover.

Well I know that but how many objectives offer a direct line to the person hacking without relying on splash? I think the solution probably lies more in the design of objectives than it does forge gun mechanics, since you'll never really be able to make a forge gun that can't roast infantry on a direct hit. If they're camping a specific objective, they aren't going to be moving much, and you'll know where they are. Either inform your snipers or spawn in with your own.
You obviously know this and more, I guess I was just referring to squashing the little running reds down low, it's definitely harder now.
