In interest of combining the two games together more, I think it would be beneficial for some sort of satellite uplink, where EVE players can view the real time map and provide DUST players with tactical intel they can use on the ground. |

This could be another way to add immersion and connectivity.
Me sitting in my Domi, watching Gallente and Caldari duking it out. That would be epic. It could have Arial views only.
Some people may say, "That's not fair!"
Well as of now in RL we have drones that provide reconnaissance intel. Why don't we have this in the future? |

Exactly, now we just need to get CCP on board. The point is, you have to link the two games more! |

And then I, in my Rokh, can point and click on the little Gallente soldiers I see on my aerial map and blast them from orbit with my Railgun. |

With this feature you can actually backstab your team like in the trailer. You could have the freedom to drop your own ob target. I wonder though if it would be too complicated to mix the unreal engine with the carbon one. I guess all they would have to do is render the map into the carbon and add low res tanks and soldiers for the overview.

Think that it would be better if the guys in Dust 514 could use WP to receive an orbital 'scan' from an Eve Player. Would be a lot more balanced because it is kinda unfair as long as the opposition has no way of taking out the ship in orbit. Once that's implemented, I'd have no problem with it.
This is coming from an Eve player who's been playing since 2006, by the way.

Bottom line, orbitals for war points is fine, satellite uplink as equipment would be nice. The problem is the warbarge, by allowing a warbarge, there isn't really a reason for EVE players to get involved. Why should I risk a ship in lowsec to provide an orbital strike when the warbarge can do it for them at no risk at all?
There is no incentive for EVE players to aid Dust players as it is, and if you're gonna have a warbarge, put it in space and make in something you can conquer. So much could be done to link the two together. |

Would be an awesome game mechanic, could avoid hostile objectives and track enemy movement, would definitely be a good reason to have an eve player in the sky. I'm for it! |

I like this idea. Maybe one day a eve pilot can have a certain module that allows them to scan the ground on.

Ccp is To busy working on faction warfare...need more interaction between the two. Open pc beyond the test tube that is Molden Heath. I'm not saying nullsec, but at least all of lowsec. |

Eve should soon have twitchTV streaming... Wonder if something similar could be done in dust from a static view over the map then implement some fancy neocom or menu option to view uplink....
Or maybe if you connect to the district satellite you get the option to view the battlefield. |

I like this idea, instead of the current district satellites there should be deployable satellites available to EVE players, which can bring a live feed of the map to the captains quarters :)
The problem is EVE players don't like the idea of DUST players being able to hurt them. When Dust players can hurt EVE players, major alliances and everyone will be looking for dust armies.
With the introduction of the EVE controlled warbarge, they could also make POS capturing/planetary customs offices by dust mercs a possibility and run it in a PVE format I suppose, where dust players would have to fight the drones guarding whatever in order to capture the pos |

Maybe the solution is to use the Carbon Engine rather than the Unreal Engine, may allow for better textures and a higher resolution picture over even low res settings. This would allow the same view to be rendered both for Dust and Eve.

This would be the most elegant solution to create dust on a Carbon based engine so it shares code with Incarna/EVE then you can knock on my Captains quarters door (but I still wont be able to open it lol).
I say Carbon based because as I recall Carbon was the name given to the code that was written that could be used in multiple products to simplify the development - Not the actual engine? Maybe someone can kick me in the pants if I'm wrong.
Although I think there is much that could be done to increase the visibility of Dust in Eve and Eve in Dust though when you are affecting one game world by joining it to another game it must be a slow process if you aren't 100% sure what the impact will be. |

The warbarge is going away for FW. That will help a bit I suspect .
A significant leap forward would be the inclusion of the following features:
1) incentivize EVE players for Dust support... Not sure what works best, ISK, LP, or salvage 2) contract system between Dust and EVE to allow exchange of services. Examples would be orbital support (hopefully with more options than just kinetic strike), transport to battle zone, attacking and defending specific worlds 3) some level of shared economy...eve side producing dropsuits, weapons, vehicles, ect for Dust 4) tangible resources needed / desired by EVE being harvested on Dust planets 5) expansion beyond Molden Heath 6) as noted in item 3... The ability to select which planets you want to attack in FW from the Dust side. |

1. ISK, LP, SALVAGE can all be gained without DUST 2. Is a semi good idea, because it allows EVE pilot to not have to join an alliance or corp. 3. Good for the manufacturing side of EVE, not sure PVP players will care enough 4. Again PVP players won't care enough and the people transporting those goods from lowsec are more likely to be blown up before they can get them. 5. YES YES YES 6. YES
The biggest thing is to create a demand for Dust Mercs, what would create the most demand? Giving Dust mercs the ability to hurt EVE players, until that happens, EVE players will continue to look down upon them.
I have enough incentive due because I play both, but other eve players for the most part don't care |

As an EVE player I fully support this thread. It would be bad ass to provide tactical intel and tell the guys on the ground when people are coming around a corner and stuff |
