YFN-UN GÇô An explosion was detected in emanating from the YFN-UN constellation in Syndicate earlier today. According to reports, the explosion was notable for the unusual radiation signature produced, which does not match any known natural or artificially-created phenomena. The Intaki Syndicate has not been forthcoming with information regarding the explosion, but the Sisters of EVE have apparently dispatched ships to investigate and attempt to see if aid needs to be supplied.
Scientists are split on the nature of the explosion. GÇ£It appears to be artificial,GÇ¥ said Dr. Gastan Prinz from the Univesity of Caille. GÇ£The radiation pulse occurs at regular intervals that is not consistent with any known natural explosion. Additionally, it is extremely heavy in the 4 picometer and 25 micrometer bands, something that is not consistent with natural phenomena.GÇ¥
In contrast, Dr. Yaseen Mitara from the Intaki Academy of Astrophysics believes it to be natural. GÇ£The explosion has features in common with extremely instable wormhole collapses. Though there are parts that match no known collapses, to dismiss the all the similarities is unscientific. However, we must keep our minds open when studying the data. Once we can pinpoint the exact location of the explosion, we should be able to learn more by sending ships directly to it.GÇ¥

In his defense, I would suggest that he was talking about the Intaki in general, or the Intaki Syndicate in the very least, not the ILF.
As for the topic at hand, I won't pretend to know how wormholes work or what caused the explosion. But knowing the Syndicate, I'm fairly sure they're hiding something.

I suspect that the Syndicate is connected to Sansha's Nation. With their apparent eradication and/or capture of Tibus Heath and now this, it seems that they are planning something.

I don't like it.
The Intaki Syndicate is more likely connected to the Serpentis and the Angel Cartel than to Sansha's Nation. The Nation's wormhole technology is an excellent reason for other powers to be looking into it. |
