MOUSE: G9X laser
I haven't been in game for a while. I was just wondering what should my mice settings be.
Is the mouse smoothing preference? What would a 'pro' player use for settings?
.. I mean I want my mouse aiming to be smooth not jagged or all over the place. I also Don't want to swipe my mouse over my entire desk just to turn a lot.
- I have the SteelSeries: Heavy (mouse pad) I like to have a large surface and lower sensitivity. - I'm currently playing BF at 800 DPI with 6 or 7% sensitivity. and it's nice.
I understand that there's some sort of limit to mouse turning if I remember correclty it's called "hard turn limiters" - some guy. Limiting how fast/far you can turn so no 360's???
anyways, I want to be able to turn good enough, but also aim well, smooth.
WHAT DPI do you recommend for my situation in DUST 514?

so If i were to turn mouse smoothing on, and set my DPI higher like 2000 or so will it not work?
if someone can test stuff like this it would be cool. well.. it would help me.
Ren, what does 8MS mean? |

Don't use mouse smoothing. High DPI mouses work very well, like the above poster said, with 0 sensitivity ingame. It's largely dependent on the mouse I guess.

Tried high DPI and sensitivity 0 yesterday. It felt like crap.
Any other settings that I could try? I usually run 70 sens, 800 DPI and NO smoothing on a logitech G500.
EDIT: I also I have the lowest polling rate setting.

You mean 125 [Hz] polling rate right (1/0.008 [s])? This setting has to be set to the lowest since the PS3 USB polling rate is 100 Hz. This is also the reason why you should have a low DPI setting.

Its not just you CCP has screwed the mouse regardless of settings CCP has emulated the mouse to work like a Joystick on a ds3 that's why the ADS feels wobbly and the tracking feels like you're swimming.. There is really no way for muscle memory to adapt to left and right inconsistent movements no matter how low or high you have the DPI settings on your mouse.. |

I've got a logitech g500.
Adjust your DPI for whatever game you play on the PC. Then when playing dust, turn off your auto aim in the controller settings. Keep the controller handy for Drop ships and turrets if you don't have adjustable DPI on your mouse.
After that, it's kind of a crap shoot. I run relatively high sense on Dust settings to make it feel more like a PC. Good luck and welcome to the cool kids' club. |

This problem went away for me when I turned off auto aim in the controller settings. I think it was still being applied for KB/M input. |

Yes, autoaiming is working. But mouse sensitivity much soap! In Chromosome i not have this problem. This problem came with Uprising patch. |

UPDATE: I tried 2000 DPI and 30 sensitivity, mouse smoothing off, it worked well.
You need to try out what works for you, run trough a door and do an instant 90 degree turn, ADS while turning and fire at a stationary target. (put down a Lav or something in the red line and use a bunker door to run trough, use a wheel to hit as the target)
-If you fall short to the target, set mouse speed higher, try again -If you overshoot your target, set mouse speed lower, try again
Keep adjusting until you stop smack middle on the target, in multiple tries right after each other..., try smaller targets to fine tune your settings.
Give the mouse a spin in that config for a few days, it should now be adjusted for your fine motor skills instead of trying to get used to something that doesnt work for you.
What also works is after these adjustments, make a new character, equip a sniper rifle, use it for CQC combat with ADS, no crouching play with it for a day, you target objective is hitting stuff, not killing it (delete test character when done)
Congratz your reaction speed and fine motor control aim adjustments have just leveled up.
